I remember “games” like that, but I never had arguments or fights with my imaginary playmates.Calvin’s imagination is a real crackup.I notice that Hobbes is in the washing machine.

They had such a hard fight! Washing in the machine is necessary!

I fear the game of monopoly will have a similar outcome.

Hi Phapada. Calvin and Hobbes are calling each other names, and they are making some of them up, like “strudel brain” and “oatmeal face” in the next frame. “Muffin head” means the same thing as “strudel brain” or “chowder head” or “stupid head.”

Calvin, why is that Monopoly Scotty stuck in your nose?

Making up rules as you go … ? Where have I heard that before?-Yeah … I know. I wasn’t really asking.

It was fine in the early AM hours, but has slowed down considerably. I wish I had the answer.

It was agonizingly slow yesterday and it looks like today will be just as bad.

Good idea Dogsniff….wish I was smart enough to come up with an answer. It’s SO annoying :-(

Slower than mollasses [sp] in january. Maybe all the ads on this site slow it down. I noticed a video comes up and plays whether you want it to or not.

Yes, I am also seeing extremely slow loading, and have been for several days now. I hope someone can fix it soon.

I’d answer your question but it takes too long to load. Actually today is as bad as it has ever been. In days past when others were complaining about the loading speed being slow, it didn’t seem that bad to me. But not today. It’s very slow.

Hi DogsniffI’m getting much slower responses these last few days than I was getting at the last survey that Hobbes did. I know that I’m nowheres near proficient enough to find/suggest a solution, maybe you’re correct, some-one out there may have the ideas

@Dogsniff…yes I am having trouble also, have been for a while now. For a while using the back arrow was sending me to the day before comic! Very frustrating! Hope someone can fix it soon!

It has been so slow as to make it I’mpossible for me to reach this site until now after my slow morning crawl through my comic queue.

I know from nothing about these things, but one of my friends who works in the field tells me heavy traffic (as in on line shopping) can slow down the whole network even if the site you’re visiting isn’t directly involved.

Yesterday was very bad. Using XP and IE8 on my desktop. Tried Laptop with 7 and IE9, no better. Today is a bit better, but sill slower than I’m used to. I’ve noticed that if I switch to a different window while a page is loading, it will abort the load.

[Snerk] “Muffin head” … an instant classic..Used to love playing games of Capture the Flag, too. Good memories.

Abysmally s…l…o…w….. yesterday. I gave up more than a few times; today? no problems. I don’t get it either. Wish I could fix it, but don’t have the skill set. Every time I try to add a new toy or program it takes me a while to teach it to play nice with the old ones.

It was awfully slow yesterday. today seems better, but I just got on this evening.

I used to change the rules like that too. It drove my friend crazy.

Hobbes has dreams…toaster oven?!

Speed hasn’t been too bad before, but got steadily slower this weekend till almost stopped! Then about 4:30 PST sped back up to normal. Is everybody watching the Grey Cup?

don’t know how come this site is slow for everyone else, for me it is as fast as it has ever been.

@Dogsniff: I don’t have “pull” with GoComics, but I’ve received two responses from them on the speed problem. The last thing that they told me was that they were trying to replicate the problem using multiple servers and computers.Today I put together 55 comments on the problem from Calvin and Hobbes readers from today and this past Tuesday and Wednesday, and sent them to GoComics in a single attachment. I also asked them whether they have been able to replicate the problem.
