All the women I know use their own names. “Captain Crunchy” is a cute joke, but it could’ve been presented better. Someone could’ve suggested it and she could’ve pointed out that she’s not a Victorian.

I always thought Crunchy was his first name. Now its Edmund Crunchy. @sinjiang = fewer fingers are easier to draw.

I knew early on what her married name might be, although it wasn’t the inspiration for their entire story arc. As for the three finger thing, I like the look of 3-fingered characters. They’re cute, especially the kid characters.
