South Boston and Dorchester are contiguous, and Gloucester and Cape Cod are less than an hour from Boston. If that’s their itinerary, I was right about GBT’s parochial view of Massachusetts.On the other hand, if they actually make the two-hour drive to Pittsfield in western Mass, then lwp is right and GBT understands that MA is more than Beantown.

@Morgil Ravenswing, that’s very true. I’m Pittsfield born and raised and I live in Boston now. I’ve met far too many native Bostonians who fit your description, I’ve started saying I’m from the Berkshires so they’ll at least have a clue as to how far West I grew up.

I’m somewhat amazed that GT knows that Pittsfield exists. Most people don’t.

I wonder how many different names there are for grandparents? My paternal grandparents were called Mamaw and Papaw.

Grams was an idiot for just not standing firm and telling Alex NO. Some kids just can’t deal with NO. Alex is clearly one of them and needs to be told it a few times.

From where we rented in MA, Cape Cod was two hours east, and Pittsfield andTanglewood were 1 1/2 hours west. Gloucester could be final stop on return to Boston for these two. Lordy, I miss my vacations in MA!

I’m disappointed that “Oops” hasn’t entered the lexicon. Especially after SNL picked up on it. Might be because so few people are that stupid.

The “R” in “other” he pronounced correctly (i.e., in “dictionary talk”.) But for he “R” in “hard” he slipped back into “Worcester talk”: “hahd”. Go figure.
