Yup, eggplants don’t look or taste anything like egg. You can prepare them with eggs, but there are at least a dozen other plants that fit that bill as good or much better. On the other hand, as Alton Brown said, eggplants are really the Berry from Another Planet.

A plant….. whose friut has the shape of an egg….. but not the color….. As a screaming kid…. I once insisted Mom let me order eggplant…. She did…. I hated it….. ! ! !
