I felt like Calvin…only 35 years ago!

Most of my childhood, bedtime was 7.

I’ve always wondered if that was meant to imply Calvin was adopted. Because, face it, who’d want to give birth to him?

With 2 brothers and 2 sisters, I was always the invisible one to my parents and stayed up whenever I wanted. Sometimes it was fun , but most of the time . . . . kinda lonely : o (

Well, give Calvin credit for trying.

Bedtime was 7pm for me …. but there was always the flashlight under the covers and comic books….

I believe for me it was 8:30 or 9 PM. We actually ate supper at 7 PM.

I thought the only explanation for the difference between Calvin and his parents was that he was adopted. At any rate, having just one Calvin is good enough reason not to have any more.

Face it, Dad, Calvin is a numb’skull’! It’s over his head!

My son has been like this in the morning most of his life… and he’s 22 now; still a morning grump.

One day Calvin will get children of his own and his dad and mum will be happy – for more reasons than one.

I bet Calvin wishes his dad was a 25 year old with his own apartment.

25 year olds are just as surly when they get up in the morning. Dad should know this.

A friend of mine’s parents used to tell her “You can be replaced by a lovable Vietnamese orphan”

Yep, and it is amazing how much smarter dad and mom become when the former youngster/teenager reaches the early 20s. My dad has been gone now for 32 years and mom for 10. I still miss not having them around to visit with and get occasional sage advice. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of mom and dad.

Awwwwwww, Poor Calvin. I only have to get up early twice a week.

My parents had our bed time at 9pm for school. Diner was at either 4:30 or 5pm. Dad got in from work at 4pm.

The old drill sergeant in my observes that “.False enthusiasm is to be preferred over no enthusiasm.”

I’m thinking I prefer Surly Calvin.

Maye he was adopted, he dosen’t seem like either parent.

Does Dad always wake up with a smile on his face? My guess is no.

(To Calvin’s dad) Listen bub, How would you like your bedtime to be more permanent? Then stifle.
