If y’all want to see professional wrestling incorporated into a fictional, crime-fighting drama, you can’t go wrong with the amazingly surreal, super-cheesy Japanese super hero series, “AztecKaiser.” Check it out:
If Thunderchild can sell becoming a face, why not? But he doesn’t look very happy with Patty Cure’s idea. Are we to understand that he’s a veteran, possibly washed up and on the way down? But that he will revitalize his career by becoming involved with Mole’s charitable work? How will this tie in to the overarcing “Mr. Crime” story?
wasnt patty cure’s “foot glossing” finished yesterday? and i thought mole only told tracy (story timeline wise) about helping the homeless a few minutes ago? how did it get in the newspapers already? the “segue” yesterday with patty cure and thunderchild’s into said “ELSEWHERE” not “the next morning” or anything… so i was assuming it took place at the same time mole told tracy about helping the homeless?
I see Mike and Joe have a pretty keen sense of professional wrestling (rasslin’); they’ve homed in one one of the icons of yesteryear! I won’t admit to anyone I used to watch it! Not even you people!
@tsull2121:That happens quite a bit in comic strips, I’ve noticed. In order to move the story along, certain elements get compressed while other elements don’t. However, this may be explained this way: perhaps this is another day, and Patty Cure is having another pedicure because that’s her quirk, and she and Thunderchild are continuing their discussion, or he has brought it up again. Chester Gould used to do this in his best stories – when he would introduce a new character, they would be seen for days, going on and on about whatever they had planned, and the particular quirk that they had would be shown again and again. Coffee Head drinking coffee from a saucer; Blow Top getting all upset over trivial stuff; Empty Williams repeating the phrase “matter of fact” whenever he spoke; Gargles using mouthwash all the time, Tonsils practicing his ridiculous songs and snapping his fingers while singing, Mumbles being asked all the time “WHAT did he SAY?” The charm of reading Dick Tracy.
Has anyone seen the movie “Apollo 18”? If it is true like they claim, then I won’t mind if they bring Moon Maid back to this strip. After all, if spider-like monsters can live on the Moon, maybe human-like aliens with horns can live there too!

The Thunderchild name and the long hair remind me of “Goldilocks” the nickname of Marvel’s “god of thunder:” Thor."

Am I the only one to recognize Thunderchild as a wannabe Thor? (Right down to the Jack Kirby-esque costume and long hair?)

Costume’s a little similar to DC’s Black Lightning.

Did someone forget to draw Patty’s eyes and glasses in the second frame?
