Transcript:
Pig: Hey, Jeff the Cyclist. How are things? Cyclist: Intense. I have to put in long hours training for my next race. My wife and kids don't seem to understand. Pig: I didn't know you had a wife and kids. What are their names? Cyclist: ... Pig: You should spend more time with your family, Jeff. Cyclist: Wait... I think one of them is a 'Betty.'

Stephan Pastis makes an appearance in Dark Side of the Horse on 12 Feb, I think. DSOH is often a bit late updating. It is the current one available at the moment.

Calvin’s dad liked to go out. I don’t’ think he liked to come back, sometimes.

Is he sure his wife & kids are still there?

You mean Lance Armstrong forgot about Sheryl Crow? Not good, dude!

@darth geekboy…well, cycling is a single man’s activity if he’s a hammerhead like the above dude “Jeff”…it can be viewed as a wonderful family activity, too…gets everybody outside and off line!

Aha, Pig! Define “family”! Maybe Jeff is doing just fine with his bicycle and without his Betty (if “Betty” it really is). That’s cyclist Family Values….I’m not advocating, just describing.

OK, one is “Raleigh,” another one is “Shimano,” and the little one is named “Trek.” Or was it “Easton,” “Scattante” and “Fuji?”
No wait, I think their names are “Cannondale,” “Bianchi” and “Specialized.” I’ll have to ask my wife, “Selle.”

Ride it while you can. I thought I’d always have the ability to get on a bike…I still do, but the day after and the day after that are no fun whatsoever…too bad, because the bike is the greatest piece of fun equipment ever designed for public use and viewing…

If his dog doesn’t recognize him, that’s when he knows he is gone too long.
Number Three almost 13 years ago
Yes, Jeff. Pig is right.
You really should!

Odd. He’s wearing a helmet, so it can’t be from head trauma.
++++
Of course, we all spend plenty of time with our families, and not on gocomics. . . .

Jeff the cyclist better make sure his kids don’t look more like the milkman, or pool boy, or repairman…..
codedaddy almost 13 years ago
Golf widows, poker widows, even chss widows. Now there are cycling widows? Jeff should protect his equipment if he wants more kids.
Wizard4168 almost 13 years ago
I’m sure at least one of them is a “Betty”; his wife would kind of have to be… (I don’t know about roadies, but among mountain bikers, “Betty” is a generic nickname for female riders. Or just women in general.)

How come Pig’s left ear sticks up? Is it a Dilbert tie thing?
