In a comic strip like Blondie it might look kinda cute… maybe

But in real life, if a man were waiting, unannounced and uninvited, in a woman’s apartment building lobby, especially after she already told him she didn’t want to date him, it would seem dangerously creepy.

It’s too bad, cos Trace is artistic and intellectual, and might inspire Lila to look beyond her usual shallow goals…

But I can’t forget the self-serving and underhanded way he tried to cadge a trip to Spain for himself

And again, tonight, he shows no respect for Lila’s wishes. That’s scary.

    No means NO.End of story.

In a couple of days time, countless men will make fools of themselves because they believe it will impress women.I hate Valentine’s Day.Every day is romantic, not just inholy days of obligation.

I, too, hate Valentines Day because i havent had a significant one in over 20 years (with the girl who got away)……..as it is, when a lady says “NO” she means “NO”, not “Make me a better offer.”

I LOVE Valentines Day . . . because I’m single! NO stress! In those years when I was in a relationship, Valentines was always torment . . . as a man you have to do something for the woman or she will be crushed and her friends will mock you, even though the two of us “agreed” that Valentines is a manufactured holiday . . . but you can’t do the same as last year, and the card has to have a heart-felt romantic message, but not cloying . . . and there’s flowers to buy at triple markup, unless you buy flowers every year then you need to do something romantically creatively different . . . and restaurants to go to, even though it’s the worst day of the year for service . . . etc, etc,

If I were single, the 3 women I would most like to date are Lila, Jessica Rabbit, and Betty Boop. Sometimes my wife wears a Betty Boop shirt to bed…

I’m sorry that some women are such morons. To say, “men are so stupid” and to tell you that you should have been “more forceful” shows the true nature of those women. You should be thankful that nothing happened with them.

LilRogue - I believe Piper is referring to this Speed Bump from January 27th.

I think the silly women who say “No means yes,” are playing a stupid game encountered in movies and TV….

In those, an attractive woman or guy can show up unexpectedly at the other person’s workplace, hide in his living room when he has a date with someone else, get the key from the doorman and fill her (huge, professionally decorated, btw) apartment with balloons….

the desired one will almost always be delighted, and often won.

let the pursuer be seen as un attractive…. represented on TV by wearing glasses or being as much as 10 pounds more than scrawny, or just by saying so ….then it’s creepy and must be punished.

So what those women were saying to Hector is they found him attractive back then, but were such game-players they couldn’t say so.

They would have still been playing games with you now, Hector.
