This is definitely one of the later stripsâthe car looks 60sâJeffâs mutton chops are thin and see through and the shopping basket is from the more modern era.Gone is the nostalgia for most of us oldiesâtake me back to the late 20s and 30s , the pace of life was slower and simpler.
M&J were one highlight of visiting my grandparents in the late â60s. Neither the Davenport Times-Democrat nor the Moline Daily Displatch hadâem, but the Kewanee Star-Courier did!
Have you noticed that their hats are also are more up to-date then in the past..
@Susan Newman, Father time sneaks up on you when you least expect it and then Bam, the next thing your at optometrist. Ahh to have young eyes again⊠âOr young anything againâ
Theyâre not wearing gloves. Theyâre in a super market with shopping carts. Al Smith signed it. The look of the cars makes me agree that this strip is from the middle 1950âs.

Cars look early to mid 50âs to me. Late 50âs would be full of tail fins, 60âs would be more boxy and square.

I like the 3D effect in the last panel. Mutt appears to be walking right out of the picture, as his hat is past the top line..
