And when you buy a replacement and go to put it away, there’s the original right where it was supposed to be,,,

I have this problem. Personally I think I have a small black hole following me about and things just fall into it. The odd thing is that a while later they reappear right under my nose.

Funny how things just grow legs and walk away and nobody knows anything about it!

The only objects that disappear are the ones you want to use right now

I blame the husband! Mine did that to me! When I left my scissors were in the drawer, all shiny and practically brand new cause I take care of them. I come home and they’re on top of the stove, open, with stuff all over them. My husband says he didn’t touch them. Oh, I suppose the cats did it then! I washed them off but they won’t cut right anymore.

On a different note—-brought a smile to my face as my daughter would always say ‘dist-appeared’.

This brings back memories. I’d look through all the drawers to find my pastry blender, scissors, scotch tape, just like Elly’s doing. When things disappeared and then reappeared I started saying The Borrowers came and took them. What other explanation was there?

I think the kids are the culprits. My mom always had to hide the scotch tape, the good scissors, and the good pens from us, or we’d carry them off, wreck them or use them up, and leave the carcasses scattered around the house.

I have a specific memory of me and my sister finding some new fine-point pens (liquid ink, not silly ballpoint!) in some really awesome colors, and appropriating them for our coloring books.Ever try to fill in a large area with a fine-point pen? If the ‘rents hadn’t found us, we probably would have used up all the ink in all the pens trying to color a single page. The rescued pens found a new home on the top shelf of a kitchen cupboard.

Thought this would stop when there was just my son and I, but noooo, I have a sneaking suspicion that it would continue with just me,,,but that can’t be right, can it?

Panel 1 – Just the other day Ellie wondered where Liz had picked up bad words. I notice Ellie is just thinking them.

I always find them the last place I laid them down. Of course, that is also the last place I look.

Worse yet, one will search for something with no results. Then, when something else disappears later, a search for it will uncover the item you searched for earlier – and no longer need!
