You’d think a child that age would enjoy seeing her uncle.

Who knows what goes through the minds of children?

It could be anything. She could be tired and cranky, and it has nothing to do with Phil. It’s a good excuse to teach her how to behave… “Okay, time to go home and get a nap. This is not how you should behave, so you must be tired.”

I find ether in a had towel works wonders.

Doesn’t like being called “the short one.” Also she may not like the smell of Phil’s smoking.

KInd of makes one wonder who’s teaching whom?

So “sorry” to all the " libs" out there, but I know how MY folks would have handled it. One warning only….and then after I was able to sit down again……….

Little Lizzie needs a nap!

Regardless of how innocent this whole comic series, always always listen to your children when they don’t want to be around someone.

Lizzie instinctively knows that Uncle Phil is creepy.

teddyr: And we all can see how well that worked.

Whatever happened to leaving the rugrats at home with a babysitter, and having a nice, adult-time visit with one’s sibling over coffee? Sigh!

She is tired and doesn’t want to fall asleep in a strange place – can you blame her?

maybe elly should ask Lizzie WHY she wants to go. Might be a simple answer like she left her teddy bear in the car and needs it. Might be something like she doesn’t like things Uncle Phil does (something as ‘innocent’ as he tickles her, or something worse). Maybe she’s afraid Phil’s going to play his trumpet and it’s too loud.

I have a real problem with parents and other adults that assume that a child who doesn’t want to do something is just a brat and needs a spanking.

“and the short one” probably didn’t sit well with Lizzie. Even kids like to be called by their names, right? :)

Lizzie’s like me at that age. Visiting could be boring to a child-especially if there was no other kids or any toys around.

And the moral of the story is . . . never take a 3-year-old out visiting anyone when it’s their nap-time!!!!!
