When I read the second panel, I thought TJ and Ann were gonna finally form that unholy alliance and finally find out that they’re long-lost half-siblings, children of the legendary mob-boss Don Pablo, who, it was rumored, hid most of his loot in an innocuous-looking WeenieWorld in a small town.

By her pose and ‘innuendo’ in p. 3, Ann is trying to clumsily seduce TJ, but he’s just not into her. Maybe she’d have more luck with the guy who just bought a soda.

Why shouldn’t TJ hook up and get hot and heavy. He’s obviously hetero and Ann is sexy.

Scared? No way. A man who’s terrified of women wouldn’t be able to have Ann under his thumb, to the point of grovelling. Gunther wouldn’t be able to pull that off, even at twice TJ’s age. Rather than terrified, I’d say TJ mistrusts deceitful women like Ann and Tiffany and keeps them at arm’s length. .He displays the same grin to everyone – so is he “scared sh!tless” of Brad and Frank, as well? .He’s contemptuous of Ann and isn’t interested in her physically – he finds her about as hot as Rosa finds Leslie Knox to be a stud. Does that mean Rosa doesn’t like boys? He felt the same way about Tiffany – she was also blackmailing him at the time. To assume that’s how he feels toward all women who aren’t attempting to manipulate or control him is a mistake. .We know TJ’s father is in the wind and did jail time. We don’t know what his attitude toward women was, nor how TJ felt about him. Some men whose fathers will nail anything that stands still long enough, like Tiger Woods, go and do likewise because that’s how they’ve been taught. And some develop a sense of discrimination, simply because their old man never had the taste or sense to do so and they don’t wish to be like him..TJ has no problem responding to either Nancy or Toni, which is not a reaction that a “scared” man would – or could – have.

You’re quite wrong – Greg has developed his character so that we’ve learned more about his past. Nancy and Frank, who used to distrust him and thought he was a bad influence on Brad, have now accepted him as a member of the family. Like Brad’s evolution from an egg-headed Sofa King troglodyte, TJ’s come a long way from ripping off firemen – and if you recall, he tried to shut that scam down, but was prevented from doing that by Tiffany. .Nowadays his schemes are either harmless or utilized as much-deserved payback. FYI, the results are not the same, since all women are not as manipulating or bullying as Ann and Tiffany. Whether Greg will come up with a love interest for TJ will remain to be seen, but because he isn’t paired off with anyone isn’t any more signficant than Bernice not being paired off with anyone. His character is peripheral to Brad’s in the same way Bernice is peripheral to Luann’s..If you find Ann hot, that’s nice – it may come as a shock to you, but not all men like the same type of women, and if one rejects a female you happen to find “hot” that doesn’t mean he’s terrified of her, any more than a woman who rejects your advances must be a lesbian. As far as the rest of the scenario you’ve just concocted – you’re writing your own comic. And as I’ve said before, please don’t give up your day job.

I think TJ’s mission is to bring Ann down. But i have to say I think some of these male customers are Gay. If Ann were in the real world wearing a tight blouse with big breasts, she could up sell a heck of a way better than a TJ could with the men.

I’ll go with the theory she needs a good spanking.

Most people can “smell” conceited, manipulative, false-seductive activity when they see it [unless they choose not to]. These two both exhibit that and the wise person shies away. I don’t think the opposite sex will let down their guard to be vulnerable for a true relationship – because they are right to be suspicious. They may make a good acquaintance [for fun] but not a friend. You won’t find either, or Tiffany, in a committed relationship.

TJ’s problem is not just with women. He has a fear of commitment and that’s why he dropped out of firefighting school. TJ may be An Eyeful’s pet project as much as she is his.

Greg hasn’t given TJ any romantic interests – so why assume the reason he’s not with anyone is out of fear – or even more ludicrously, love of Brad? Gimme a break. What always motivated him in his get-rich-quick scams was the money – which, if he had to survive by his wits and charm prior to finally being accepted by the DeGroots, would probably have been more important to him than developing any romantic connections. .You need to reread that arc again because you’re indulging in revisionist history. TJ didn’t “bomb” with Tiffany – more like the other way ‘round. He cut out Luann and took her on as a partner, yet made it very clear she couldn’t wheedle or manipulate him, and when she couldn’t get her way she realized she’d met her match. She wasn’t particularly interested in him, either! They were both equally unscrupulous, and it was only by threatening to tell on him that she got the upper hand – and paid dearly for it, because she lost her C of C crown. TJ paid back the money and skated – natch..But look at the difference between his gloating grin back then – and how he looked yesterday when Ann praised him. It’s not the same guy.

My wife had an interesting thought. We know TJ has lots of money and nobody knows where it comes from. WHAT IF TJ actually is the unknown owner of the Weenie World franchise? Theat right there would be funny.

Ann is going to get a boyfriend (maybe a fake one) either to make TJ jealous or he will actually find himself jealous.

I don’t think TJ sees the possibilities here. Either he is so focused on the original idea of driving Ann bonkers, or he is seeing if he can get Ann to ask for his “loosening up”. Either way, I’d still like to see what could be this strips hottest couple.

It IS time for Ann to come up with a surprise.

One thing to consider is that Ann has something at stake with every purchase, namely that better sales numbers make her look good. That’s why managers in every kind of retail business always try to get the employees to upsell, e.g. “do you want fries with that?”. TJ upsells for fun, or else he’s the real “Undercover Boss” of WeenieWorld…

No, TJ is not a loser who can’t form commitments. Ann’s comment is simply sexual harrassment, and TJ’s come-back is a not-so-subtle put-down; “Sorry, honey, I ain’t interested, and you might want to back off.” I suspect that if she keeps going with this line of attack, she might find out just how much power she DOESN’T have.

I’m surprised no one’s said, “Oh, he must be gay!”
