It doesn’t work. For me, all-night Splinter Cell/Mass Effect/Heroes of Might and Magic sessions always tire me out and I’m asleep the second my head touches the bed.

Of course, nothing beats the old reliable dozen bottles of beer.

If this how Luann reacts to reading an article, I’d be interested in seeing what would happen if she ever read a book (rather than just shelving them at her library volunteer-job).

Opened the window to cool the room? That would prevent me from sleeping. Always an issue when one wants it open and the other wants it shut. Oh…is that why I’m on my own, now?

crack the window and then you can’t set the burglar alarm.

Cracking the window sounds like a good way to cool things off. Around here in August, by morning the temperature may have gotten down to a “chilly” 78 degrees. No point in trying to air condition the great outdoors.

So true. I wish someone would invent something to prevent that. They could call it something like — ummm — a “screen”.

“Going to bed at 5:30pm??”Geeeeeez.Lu, dear I have an idea: why don’t YOU go out on a date?A REAL date. With a Guy.Just a Plain Old Fashion American Non-Committal, DATE.“What Guy?”ANY Guy!……, BUT Quill!A guy Like Say, oh, I dunno, Gunther, maybe?Go to see that New “Revengers” movie, or whatever the hell its called. Then later go out for a snack.(Uh, but DON’T go to THAT Weenier World Joint, because they got got CROOKS workin’ the register)And AFTER that, just talk for a bit.Talk about politics, dress-making, world events, the fact that Gunth needs a NEW shirt, the INSANE High Price of COFFEE, anything.

…..Anything BUT: Romance, Quill, Love, Rosa, or guys named “Aaron”.

Just ENJOY each other company and promise yourselves that You two will get together and do this once a month.

    Do it.

Do it for the fans of the G-Man, who just LOVE seeing his detractors PULL their HAIR out EVERYTIME he’s Depicted in this strip.

Never get involved with someone who worships you, or someone who you worship. The idealism wears off eventually and the resulting disappointment is profound. Both parties wind up losing and wondering what the heck happened.

Greg should DO something with him or SEND him Back to Oz, IMHO.

I mean, LETS face it: Quill is BORING. He’s like an animated Department Store Manikin, only LESS interesting.Now. what WOULD make him bearable to watch and liven things up a bit, would be having Him suddenly dating Rosa. Those two have a LOT in Common and…..,

Oh I AM Sorry, I forgot. This is NOT My strip….,

Luann may be a natural blonde, but that doesn’t mean Nancy’s a natural brunette – not every woman who colors her hair wants to be a blonde, just as not every man wants to be gray.. Not seeing anyone reach for the Clairol bottle is no argument at all – you don’t see Frank shaving every day either, and yet he doesn’t have a beard. .Outside of albinism or another pigmental abnormality, there is no “off the wall genetic thing” that would also let Luann be in otherwise good health. Keep it simple – brown haired parents with a recessive blond gene have a 25% chance of producing a blond child. If Nancy and Frank had produced two more kids, it’s more than likely they would have had dark hair.

Is there some reason the weekday comic is called “Luann”? Something like “t.j.” would be more appropriate. If I wanted to be exposed to something as lame as “Dondi”, I’d go back and check out newspapers from the 50’s. – Gene Miller (Huntington Beach, CA)

And you’d just better pray that the person whom you’re so anxious to shoot and stuff into a body bag doesn’t turn out to be a loved one who was downstairs getting a snack or a drink or going to the bathroom. I’ve read so many stories of just that happening that guns will NEVER have a welcome place in my home — EVER.

Of course her hair could be naturally dark – or not. (FYI, dark hair dye existed back in the 1960’s, too.) I raised the issue because many people figure that no one who’s blonde would ever willingly dye their hair dark..I don’t know that we’ve seen Luann “awake late at home”, but given the amount of homework teenagers have these days, it wouldn’t be too surprising if she were getting to bed late, and catching up on z’s in class. .Research has shown that teenagers need more sleep than younger kids to do well – about 9.5 hours rather than the “normal” 8. The nation’s leading sleep expert says that most teens are sleep deprived, due to having a lot of scheduled activities after school, then having to stay up too late to finish homework, then getting up too early to get to school – turning them into “walking zombies” with the attendant disciplinary and poor concentration problems. Starting school later in the day would actually relieve some of that. .You may call bullshit, but sleep deprivation defininitely contributes to poor grades. The NTSB reports that falling asleep at the wheel is responsible for over 100,000 crashes per year – and over half of that number are teenagers.

You didn’t, and IMO you didn’t come off as an irresponsible gun owner just because you didn’t mention calling 911 first, weapons training, trigger locks or a gun safe. If family members are sneaking in past curfew, I figured they’d also know the alarm code – and because you had the presence of mind to have a body bag in the other hand I figured you wouldn’t be fool enough to be firing blindly.. Irresponsible people with firearms account for the stories legaleagle has heard, so unless he/she feels a need and doesn’t want to accept the consequences for not knowing how to own or use one responsibly, he/she is right in not having a gun in the house. IMO irresponsible people shouldn’t have firearms, but then they also shouldn’t have access to liquor, car keys, home loans, credit cards and the vote, either – but no one’s yet found a way to keep their hands off those and still have a free society. .The difference between dead by firearm and the other weapons is that you have to get in close combat range to kill with those, which means you generally know if you’re attempting to off a family member or not. Of course, the disadvantage there is that if it’s not grandma you’re up against, you could be disarmed and your weapon used on you. .So if someone can come up with a way for me to run over an armed intruder in my home and still get good mileage, I’m open to suggestions!

I’m not so desperately literally-minded that I’d expect you to actually have a body bag – the intent you conveyed is that if anyone entered your home intent on doing physical harm, they could get what they deserved if they persisted. You’re right, you can’t find them for sale, which is why regular ol’ murderers have to lump it and buy outsized trash containers and oil drums. Gee, life is hard all over, eh?.An alarm probably would have made a big difference to your neighbor – at the very least she would have been rescued by getting out of the rug sooner. Wrapping someone up in wet sheets is a better short-term way to incapacitate them without flirting with a murder rap if no one finds the victim within the week – when the sheets dry, they can usually extricate themselves fairly easily. .People assume burglars are cautious and don’t want to break in when people are present. That’s true of the career burglar who’d rather not deal with homeowners and possible identification, but a lot of home invaders are fueled by adrenaline, drugs or just plain psychosis, and can actively seek out a human presence. Outside of the rush, they figure threatening the victim with death or injury will result in people disclosing their various stashes, so it’ll be a more profitable raid than if they had to take the time to look through the house on their own.

LOL, those are CROSS body bags – purses with a strap that goes from one shoulder to the opposite hip! Nothing like being stylish while you try to dispose of your little “mistakes”. Try HUMAN body bags or cadaver bags and you’ll find all your…er…“shopping needs” satisfied, without having to fire up the barbecue at 3AM.

Sheesh! Hasn’t anyone noticed that Nancy has darker skin? Her black hair suits her complexion. Has Greg ever mentioned her background? We got an answer when we asked about TJ’s heritage. And yes, due to the genetic crap shoot of conception, dark-haired people can have a blonde kid. With blue eyes, even!
