True. And certain other group of people once killed way more than 50,000 other people in just one day, and three days later killed way more than 30,000 more in just that day. (And those are the low estimates). But of course the people that committed those huge instantaneous killings do not consider themselves mass murderers. No sir, they say that there were very valid reasons to do that, that the end justified the means. And maybe they were right but… …guess what: that’s exactly what the Spanish Inquisitors, the French Revolutionaries, the Salem witch-hunters, and the Islamic extremists say…
BTW, it is easy to cherry pick the horrible aberrations in the Quran and the nice parts of the Bible and conclude that Islam is a religion of hate and Christianity one of love. But then it is also extremely easy to cherry pick the atrocities presented in the Bible (in particular but in no way limited to the Old Testament) and the extremely beautiful passages of the Quran and conclude exactly the opposite. I was raised as a Catholic, and went to a Catholic school. (Awesome Benedictine priests, BTW, I owe them a lot). But later in life I started to really read the Bible carefully, without excuses and rationalizations, and realized that Judaism and Christianity are based on such abhorrent and despicable principles that there was no way I could stand behind them. (Islam is no better of course).
