The son must be the second harmonic. ;-)
Why is he so insistent that the kid play in the orchestra? I’d be a whole lot more worried about the $10 million strad at this point. The family matters may be more important, but they are far less urgent.
Not surprised that ridenslide65 thinks this tale will go on for a whole year.
Look, this father and son “squable” has been going on from Dec. 12, nearly 2 weeks now. Totally unnecessary, in a franchise where “forward” movement is confined, Tuesday to Saturday !
The point could have been all made in six panels, better pace, to move on, and avoid the boredom of this stifling repetition. And readers wait for progress on that Tracy Geenee call.
Easy to picture a “not in a hurry” DL scratching his head (unconcerned - with a smile) and pondering over what’s going to “happen” next.
Unlike wndrwthg out with great verse, faster than Mrs.P cracking her whip.
What kind of rock has daddy been living under for the last twenty years? Nigel Kennedy has played with the Who and performs Jimi Hendrix in his concerts.
I have a coffee mug with the line: “Wee fish ewe a mare egrets moose.”and the animals on it. Love it.
Thanks for the Pogo memory! I had forgotten all the stanzas after the first.
Sale of “original” Dick Travy art by* Chester Gould *… for example choice Pruneface and Flattop strips have sold in recent years for US$4.000 to US$5,000.
Periodically, a strip comes up for sale on E-Bay or in one of the Art Auction Houses that deal in that work
Doubt that anyone would pay much for original art in the “current” strip. Dick Tracy is a rich name, but today it’s not made to the “quality” that’s likely to bring back fond memories.
It really is a quite a prestigious seat
With extra padding it can’t be beat
Sonny boy was now in full rebellion
How could his father have raised such a hellion?
The rare violin seems to be forgotten
In the fathers ire to a son misbegotten
To play guitar in a rock band was in his dreams
But he may not be alive tomorrow, so it seems
Why he sold the fiddle is a riddle for sure
Was it for equipment, roadies or the groupie de jour?
The mystery of the strip in not contained in the plot
But why would they would choose to print this tommyrot.

It’s too bad federal law forbids a person from being in an orchestra AND a rock band at the same time. I knew we’d regret that law someday.

We all need a little ‘Pogo’ right about now-
Deck us all with Boston Charlie, Walla Walla, Wash., and Kalamazoo! Nora’s freezin’ on the trolley, Swaller dollar, cauliflower alley’garoo!
Don’t we know archaic barrel, Lullaby Lilla Boy, Louisville Lou! Trolley Molly don’t love Harold, Boola boola Pensacoola hullabaloo!
Bark us all bow-wows of folly, Polly wolly cracker n’ too-da-loo! Donkey Bonny brays a carol, Antelope Cantaloupe, ‘lope with you!
Hunky Dory’s pop is lolly gaggin’ on the wagon, Willy, folly go through! Chollie’s collie barks at Barrow, Harum scarum five alarum bung-a-loo!
Duck us all in bowls of barley, Hinky dinky dink an’ polly voo! Chilly Filly’s name is Chollie, Chollie Filly’s jolly chilly view halloo!
