Where’s the cat? Shouldn’t he be forcing Slim off the road and into a ditch? Where’s Lucky?

Lucky may not be Slim’s denomination. Probably a roamin’ cat-holic!

I love these signs and the similar ones I see in my travels. Nice strip!

Balboa Boulevard in Granada Hills, California has several churches that regularly post messages such as these. Always a pleasure to see them!

Have you ever seen the funny church signs in the many Simpsons episodes?

How about: “Ask about our retirement plan. It’s out of this world!”

Seven days without prayer makes one weak.

(During a heat wave: ) Come on in! It is comfortable inside. This church is prayer conditioned.

The word “Christian” covers a large number of persuasions. Some who call themselves Christian do not believe the Holy Bible, in full or in part. Think of Thomas Jefferson who littlerly cut out parts of the New Testament he did not believe Jesus said. For my part, I bielieve the Holy Bible is God’s Sacred Word given to mankind to show his love and justice, complete and unalterable.

On a sign, “Thou shalt not steal the copper.”

That was as opposed to all the other churches that do not believe in the PURE literal interpretation of the bible that they alone possess. So sad that if you attend another church, lots of luck for your salvation.

My favorite during a long Texas summer once was “So you think it’s hot now…”

Or a non-Bible believing Christian Church.

The Gasoline Alley page, like a church, is a place one is free to visit, or not visit. However, you will find many more non-believers here than in a church. Wouldn’t it seem strange if someone did attend church regularly, only to heckle the preacher and complain how much they dislike the place? Oh well, see you all next week!

The bumper stickers are funny too, mine sez: Try Jesus! If you don’t like him, the devil will always take you back.

Matthew 6:1-8

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Jesus never spoke Old English, he probably spoke Aramaic & maybe Greek. I have problems reading the KJV myself. And not everybody has the time to learn Hebrew and Greek.
