… most advertising is invisible, because we’ve become numb to it.which is unfortunate, because that motivates advertisers to make their ads even more crass and obnoxious to get our attention …
Apple is successful in part because of product placement in schools and colleges. They donated machines, students learned on them, and were more inclined to purchase a platform they were familiar with. But the schools benefited in return. Pepsi doesn’t have the same gravitas.
So how do you advertise on a top secret space station, when the idiot selling ad space will delete your memory of the event right after you sign for ad space?
The way it’s written now, commercials can’t be louder than the show. The advertisers took that to mean it couldn’t be louder than the LOUDEST part of the show. So, if there’s an explosion or other loud sound in the show, the advertisers take that as the volume of the whole commercial.

The space station is secret, isn’t it? So they’re invisible anyway.

Sickest scheme these days is advertisements on and IN school buses. Now that’s downright abusive.

The commercials are not really louder, they just have a higher decibel count.
