I forgot my cell at home. Called wife from work, giving a number where I could be reached. Wife got off work 4 hours early, unable to reach me. Mad because I picked her up from work 4 hours late. Told me, " Next time donât forget your (flippinâ) phone." Looked at her cell, she had transposed 2 numbers in my work number given on a prior date. Feeling vindicated, I told her, âNext time check your (flippinâ) messages." That was when I got the silent treatment. .I did everything I should have, yet it was my fault she didnât check her messages. .Women, you canât live with them⊠(you can finish the rest)
I donât give anyone the âsilent treatmentâ on purpose, but because I dislike confrontation I tend to clam up and not say anything. Itâs a coping mechanism that can sometimes be taken as either the silent treatment or passive aggressiveness when in actuality itâs neither one. Some people just donât get that youâre not being quiet because youâre mean; youâre being quiet because thatâs how you deal with things. Different strokes, folks!

I know guys who do the same thing, itâs not exclusively a female trait. Itâs powerplay, whoever does it. You just have to learn not to play.
