Unless you want to climb some mountain in Nepal and be a guru. The look would be perfect (stereotypically, that is).

Every now and then I see the device advertised which is supposed to get rid of hair and keep it gone up to a month. They always show some beautiful lady using it to get smooth legs. I have wondered if us manly men could use it to reduce shaving needs.-In the mean time, I keep my Chinese disposable razor in a tupperware glass of soap remnants and water and shave with it while showering (for ease of cleanup) and replace it every few months. After all, I want to get my ten cents’ worth.

Gandalf never dated hobbits…or anyone, really. He’s a Maia. Essentially, Tolkien’s version of an angel.

But yes, the real problem with looking like that is, if you aren’t a wizard, or possibly Santa Claus, it just dosn’t end well.

There are in-between stages that are not totally clean-shaven yet not full straggly hermit’s beard either. Maybe you (both) should think about that….

OK, so this was funny, like the old days before Evans began “growing” his characters. Damn, I miss those days.

David Huie…thanx for the timely tip. I’ll try it. Memories: Wilkinson Sword Edge blades…’way back, five of us in SF training group could shave with the same blade for a week.

Next year one of us could shave once with the same brand.

Many of us stopped our respect for capitalism with THAT.

I had a beard once. It was rather scraggly; I couldn’t get it to comb straight. It got to be irritating one very smoggy day, so I got rid of it.

On the other hand, a law school classmate of mine grew a very fine beard. His was straight, looked good, and was easily combable/brushable. His beard was of better quality, I reckon you’d have to say.

Some men’s beards grow better than others.

Man-grooming tip of the day: Don’t pluck nose hairs. It gets infected easily. Their are special little electric shavers for that.

Have you ever noticed that NO comic strip wife likes facial hair on her husband? I remember the fits Blondie has every time Dagwood just thinks of growing a beard.

I married to this hot guy with a full beard which has gone past gray to white. (It was salt-and-pepper when we married.)Yesterday, this sweet little girl asked him if he was Santa Claus. He said he was Santa’s cousin and if she wanted him to pass on a message. There’s nothing hotter than a sweet guy in a beard.

As a fellow who has worn a professorial looking beard and moustache for over 30 years now (I do happen to be a professor), I find it rather odd and silly that so many here seem so NEGATIVE about the normal hair growth pattern that males develop. A beard and moustache are a normal part of the development of the male. Some people will shave them off for “fashion” and others will let them grow. But to suggest wearing a beard and moustache is “gross, disgusting, etc” is rather narrow minded and actually ludicrous.

There is a very fine line between a good looking beard and a beard that needs to go. . . . Very few have figured out how to cross the line to good looking
