I think Calvin is going to get a little “guidance”, but not in a spiritual way and I doubt whether it will be comforting either….

Funny how your principals always get you sent to the principal’s office, Calvin.

What’s Mom & Dad’s phone number? As principle, tell him he can’t light fires in school. Do it in your backyard (like I do). A sacrifice to the God’s ( some God’s).

Miss Wormwood only sent Calvin to the office because she wanted to strip down and be covered with paste while burning an effigy of the principal in a non-denominational way..

Maybe that comes from reading the bible:Give no woman power over you to trample upon your dignity. (Sirach 9:2 NAB)

If two Israelite men are fighting and the wife of one tries to rescue her husband by grabbing the testicles of the other man, her hand must be cut off without pity. (Deuteronomy 25:11-12 NLT)

Actually they just want separation of church and state. The gov’mint should not pass laws that violate the moral ethics of the church. It is actually what the founding fathers wrote into the constitution. Christianity does not care if you want birth control by abortion….they just don’t want to be forced to pay for your abortion. They want you to pay for your abortion out of your own pocket.

In the 80’s I suppose this would have been funny. Today I see it as a case study of the early years of a person with serious anti-social issues.

If Calvin does insist on covering himself with paste, it could get to be a sticky situation. Of course, he does have some burning issues with Mrs. Wormwood as well.

Calvin, there’s no such thing as religious or metaphysical neutrality – which makes the very concepts of “separation of church and state” and “non-denominationalism” self-refuting. Try bringing that up instead if you _really _ want to blow people’s minds.

She should have told him to take the effigy outside and put it in a wastepaper basket and then set it on fire. If the rest of the class had been able to attend, Calvin would have been the most popular student in the school that day….amazing what you have to do to get other folks attention these days….

Calvin needs to move to Missouri – here’s what got voted in last month. “No student shall be compelled to perform or participate in academic assignments or educational presentations that violate his or her religious beliefs.”
