Cul de Sac by Richard Thompson for August 29, 2012
August 28, 2012

Transcript:
Petey: This place gives me the creeps. Alice: I like that one! Petey: It's like a graveyard, but all the dead people escaped. Alice: Daddy! Can I have this one for my room?
The fountain probably came from there originally, too. And the big pot IS on sale, after all, how could they not buy it for her? It could become her new room.
I thought this looked familiar so I just found CdS has been in reruns since 7/9. Now I find that Richard Thompson has decided to end the strip in September.
aww, dang it! I thought the art suddenly looked like they had finally found a team that worked to keep it going (or best hope, that Richard was having a better time). Thanks for all the really sweet laughs, it will be a huge void, but take care of yourself, we will manage.
Yes, I remember the huge fountain. I have been shopping for a brass urn for my ashes; I’m currently about to paint Fitzroy’s portrait on his brass box (that I bought for his).
We can all hope that Mr Thomson will reconsider and just get someone else to do the ‘heavy lifting’. I am sure that his mind is still there and he could direct the artwork from the sidelines. What ever he decides to do in the end, I thank him for all the pleasure he has given me – I hope that he can reconsider – if he could find someone that wants to work cheap with little recognition, like all cartoonist these days do.

How do you know they have escaped, Petey? Maybe they’re still here, waiting for you!

I love how Petey and Alice always have these conversations without actually talking to each other.

Well first off Alice, how would you get it home? And then, how would you get it through your bedroom door?

This looks like a good place to play “Hide and Seek” in, if Petey can be made to move around inside of it…maybe her parents can do the seeking/

Some commenters said yesterday that Alice would love this place. Right on, folks!

Aliice likes rococo. Fits her artistic nature and love of glitter.
