My Mum didn’t believe I was too sick to go to school unless I had a high temperature so when she was out of the room I would rub the thermometer rapidly on the bedsheet. That moved it up two to three degrees and I stayed home to watch TV. I did that a couple of times. (are you reading this Mum? Sorry).
