Those twins are 8-year olds, and earlier this week we saw Lillian buying this desk from a regular furniture store, not from an auction. If someone has time to scan all the archived strips (originally from Comics K.) he or she might find this same story was published ten or more years ago and revived today.
OK, so this is lining up with the timeline in Funky Winkerbean, but in that timeline Crankshaft was in a nursing home with what looked like severe Alzheimer’s…
Might wish to have that Tiffany lamp examined by an expert in antigues. When, I lived in Davenport, a couple bought a house with such. Lamp proved to be an original. Sold the lamp, paid off their mortgage, replaced the original with a copy and stll had quite a bit left over.
A Tiffany lamp that wasn’t there yesterday, and now the shelf on the wall over where they put the desk is gone. And P.S. I had a roll top desk. No way are two dudes picking it up like that!
Lillian does have taste in furniture! Now she should get a beautiful chair of the same kind of wood that the desk is and she will have a great space to write her mystery books.
After FW was dropped due to a faux pas the writers must have decided to re-invent the strip with a new name and a lighter story line. I tried to read FB once and was not into the depravity represented
My parents bought me a roll-top desk back in 1968. I still have it. I thought it would make my homework easier. Just like I use to think PF Flyers would make me run faster. I was a dumb kid.

A “Tiffany” lamp? How about an “Ivanka” lamp?
