Transcript:
Miss Bliss: Today we're going to try and exciting new art form! Beni: Miss Bliss, my sister wears a uniform to school. Can we wear uniforms too? Miss Bliss: No. It's called ORIGAMI! Please take a sheet of paper. Alice: If we get uniforms, will they come with hats, too? Miss Bliss: No. Now fold along with me as we make an origami duck! Alice: If we get uniforms and hats, would we be issued we weapons, too? Miss Bliss: No. Fold this here, this over here- Miss Bliss: And, Viola! A DUCK! Beni: This cootie-catcher is lethal at a distance of 20 feet! Dill: Everytime she tries something new, this happens. Beni: And I got a paper out.

nice folding skills the kids have, but Beni sure sure was quite a talker

“So what happened in school today, Alice?”
“Nothing.”

Is that a duck or a dog?

Miss Bliss should be nominated for sainthood.

I wonder if the kids have kindergarten-y prison blues songs they can sing when they’re all in that corner.

Herding cats…

Make them wear uniforms and they’ll hate them in no time. But you should issue weapons. Foam noodles would be good, to wear them out a bit.

Miss Bliss should let her hair down, lose the glasses and do a bikini pose.

They all sure spend a lot of time in the time out corner.

If you followed my links last Sunday, you know I was wrong (this isn’t being skipped in the rerun). It has no blog entry.Richard did post one the day this first ran; but, it was for a Cul de Sac from 6 years earlier, when, I think, the strip was only in the Sunday Washington Post (link has tribute to Richard, GREAT documentary at the end) Magazine insert.

How is it a timeout if they’re all there together?
Marathon Zack about 9 years ago
As usual, I see no warrant for timeout for any of the kids, certainly not all of them. All they did was ask some innocent (for kids this young) questions. Also, I see at least 2 kids talking, Beni, and in the second panel, Alice. Can’t tell for the third panel.

I like how everyone (except Beni) made hats instead of a duck.
Sisyphos about 9 years ago
Miss Bliss said No three times! I think we all know what that means.Despite their slight millinery confections, the kids have earned the Timeout Corner!

Plus, if this would be indeed a totally new art form, shouldn’t they start with something simple… like hats?
