I haven’t had any trick or treaters in over 30 years, but I always buy those little snack sized packets of M&Ms just in case. I’ve had to replace that “just in case” sack of little snack sized packets 3 or 4 times now. I must have a ghost who likes M&M’s.
I am proud to say that this year I have resisted the Halloween candy. I attribute it to my incredible will power. Well, that and my massive stock of cookies and donuts.
We used to get lots of kids coming by—over 100 a couple of years in the 1990s. But they tapered off after the turn of the century, and I think we’ve had only one or two since COVID. Oh, well, the leftovers will find a good home.
May the Great Pumpkin bring everyone lots of candy and toys this Halloween.
We do this every year… we don’t get that many Trick or Treaters so we don’t buy that much candy as we don’t want a bunch leftover. Then we get more kids than expected. Then I panic, run out and buy a bunch of Halloween candy so we’re not caught short. Then no kids show up and we’re left with a bunch of leftover candy. D’oh!
It’s also Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. There’s a house on my usual dog walking route which has a colorful string of lights in their front window, and a few spooky jack o’ lanterns on the porch :D

It happens every year! Dave eats all the candy, and has to be that guy that hands-out vegetables and fruit. Enjoy your cauliflower kids!

I would have thought that Dave could have afforded getting the king size candy bars this year.

We all did that at least once. Mom had to chase my sister and me away from the candy stash when we were getting ready for Trick or Treating.

I thought Canada celebrated Halloween in September, handing out little bottles of maple syrup.
Happy Halloween, Hosers!

We have lived in a “55+ community” now for almost three years and my wife is grouchy about no trick or treaters coming by!

I give out glow sticks, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk. That way the leftovers can be used the next year. 10 kids this year.

Just eat a candy bar each time the doorbell rings!
