I’m sure Jeff and MPH are in a state of erotica, praising the artistic and literary genius of the author. This is so bad, even Bassmanbob is going to have an uphill climb making sense of it. Not to be forgotten is that the strip contradicts itself repeatedly.
Repairfudgers toolbox: A great way to tell if your repairman’s credentials suck is if he sticks his tools in electric sockets. Ooohhhh clever tie in to the whole “high voltage” theme! Snicker, snicker.
I agree with margueritem. This is absolutely SO BAD there is nothing to say.
GOBSTOPPERS NUTBAG - If a repairman starts attacking a electrical socket with a screwdriver like a crazed murderer,it’s time to check his credentials. If he took the bus to your house….bad sign….
Please, PLEASE tell me that the repair man turned off the circuitbreaker and then checked to be sure the line was dead first before sticking a screwdriver anywhere near that outlet. That’s so basic even the average homeowner should know that much before replacing an outlet.
About the rest: Last panel, for most of this story Dick has been fresh out of other policemen, with the possible exception of OMSWATT– and he barely counts as “other policemen”. So, who is going to arrest Battleaxe Sarcastica and Pirate Billy? Did Sam make it through the midnight traffic jam in time ? (Yes, Grokenstein, I do recall some of your stuff– and wish to God I’d thought of it first– it’s that good.) Did Liz finally quit daydreaming about wild nights spent with the robots and send– late but send none the less– backup? Did she maybe show up herself to relieve Dick of his office for massive incompetence? Who know? Tune in two weeks from now and miss next week’s Sunday Recap.

Of course the repairman has turned off the breaker. Nobody doesn’t do that. He can’t check that the circuit is dead, however, until he takes the plate off because the switch is broken and the light won’t light anyway. And there is absolutely no danger in unscrewing the switch plate. If there were, we’d be killed or injured every time we touched one of those screws. It’s what happens after the plate comes off that’s dangerous. You have to stick a probe into the box to check the circuit: a million times more dangerous than unscrewing those screws; yet I’ve never heard of anyone getting killed doing that.
There is plenty to criticize in this strip, so why waste time on the only thing that’s right?
Gweedo Murray says:
“Here I thought the guy was bracing himself to push the screwdriver deepr into the outlet.”
Ha! Never thought of that, Gweedo. That would be almost as dumb as grabbing a smoking wired high voltage robot head with your bare hands.
I thought the repair guy was checking around the corner for stuff he could steal. Also, in the left bottom panel looks like DT is headed for a new career as a Rockette.
I think the advertisers use the number of comments (among other things) to gauge the popularity of a comic (and visibility of their ads). Thus, DL is great success. Something like “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes” - a movie so bad it was good.
“Braces gave Diet Smith Industries the plans for The Tracy Bot.”
When and where did you read this? Most here seem to exaggerate ALL sorts of opinions as FACT, and I’m pretty sure this is yet another example. No offense intended – criticize what you will, but lets keep the facts straight.
Ridenslide – YOU are the one who needs to lighten up. God forbid someone here chooses to actually mention something of substance. You exercise YOUR right to respond with pedantic observations – the LEAST you can do is afford others the courtesy to do otherwise. Gimme a break.

Who in the h— is Tracy talking to? Are we, the readers now junior G-men and are supposed to make the collar?

The number of wires that connects MF/BF’s head to his body keeps changing. Yi!!!!
That hand in the last panel is the lousiest of them all!!!

Nasty kick by Dick. Even had robot’s eyes close. And what about the attempted robbery charges, Dick?

I love how the repairman is holding up the wall with his shoulder. He needs an assistant.

I know who Dickie is speaking to in the last panel. Shirl(ey)’s sister is going to arrest herself. Citizen’s arrest of the first order.

The little dude! What happened to the little dude? Is he all right?
LudwigVonDrake almost 16 years ago
^ If you go by a few days ago, the little dude is in pieces. He gave his life to save Dick Tracy and the useless Swat Guy (why?).
Where is Robo-Tracy during all of this? I don’t think this storyline is quite over yet.
