Holy Moses, we’re already at another locale! Isn’t Dick supposed to stand around at Locher Auditorium trading insults with Fly-Face for at least a month before the story moves forward?
So have Fly-Face and the Fifth now got out of line? The earlier news report said that the Fifth claimed to have worked undercover against terrorism. Is it some sort of deal-breaker for him to go public about that? Or has his lawyer found a loophole? And of course, why are they in Naperville, where they were bound to run into Tracy?
And you forgot the HANDS, which in contrast although realistic now appear HUGE
Don’t you think there’s a certain symbolism to the CRUMBLING Granary at the end, accentuated by those rats scurrying around in the refuse (?)
You might suspect, there’s an artistic ‘actualization’ on ’ what had happened ‘ to the strip’s circulation (with the loss of reader’s ‘respect’) under Locher’s watch ?
An expression of a flood of repressed memories and a sense of GUILT - subconsciously slipping out ?
There’s an interesting point here. Two days ago Fly-Face objected when the Fifth called him “Fly-Face,” but he didn’t mind when Sam called him that. In fact Fly-face called him “Officer Catchem,” while he called his own client “Fifth.”

It’s not so much what he said, But how he said it!
Actually I noticed that too, I thought the “Officer” Catchem was a slap in the face for Calling him Fly-Face.
Det.DanDone, I wondered about that too. “Detective” versus “Officer.” Sam’s a detective now, but in this reset world would he have been Officer Catchem the last time he saw Fly-Face? Or is Fly-Face just trying to get under his skin?
This is awesome! Every day I look forward to the new strip. DT is the first comic I read now, and it’s not just for the comments anymore (sorry guys). Just like when I was a kid waiting for the newspaper so I could grab the comics page and read DT. THANK YOU Mike and Joe!
The actual story is the same since monday to the one publish last summer on: .”A Tribute Site to the Original Crimestopper”. The real Junior will appear on friday in 3 weeks. Today’s comic strip is MCS006nd Junior will show up in MCS023
If Fly-Face and the Fifth weren’t actively committing crimes while working for the government, they must have been plotting something. Perhaps there’s a connection with the armory fire we saw headlined in the Jackson Banner. Perhaps the speaking engagement is a cover for their stories. I suppose that Tracy’s next step is to contact the ABA and discover the buzz on Fly-Face.
I remember a storyline from many years ago where Lizz was kidnapped, bound, gagged and about to be fried by a large magnifying glass. I believe Flyface and The Fifth the villians in this one. I saw it in a newspaper archive somewhere.
Doc1947g, please don’t say more about upcoming characters. I know it is hard, I am married to the person inking the strip after all, but let everyone enjoy seeing the story unfold. Also the Sunday strips were never posted on the Tribute site, so you still have those to look forward to. They will often have some filler about things that happened during the week that wasn’t shown during the dailies.
R_Noonan63, you want a bone huh? Um… Well lets see… Ummm… The picture on the wall in panel #1 in front of Tracy’s face has the perspective going the wrong way. Ummm… The lamp on Trailers desk appears to be on, but he is still in shadow. The FBI logo on the wall has an F in it, the real logo doesn’t have FBI across the middle. There, feel better now?
Also, have you all heard? Beatty won his court battle.
Yes, on one crook impersonating Batman. It was the “mod” fad at the time. 1964 The FBI with the early 1930’s look. The phrase that got a lot of use on JAG.
^Sheesh, I think somebody has a neurotic fear of hats. There’s a scientific name for this condition, but I’m afraid it may trip the bleeepometer. It’s called (are you ready?) cocklaphobia.
With or without his fedora, Staton & Curtis’s ‘s Dick Tracy continues to impress.
In real life they use low life informers and even protect them when they continue their criminal acts, even to murder if they think this piece of scum can help them. A dirty corrupt business that has put away many an innocent person.

In Boston his name was Whitey Bulger.
Thank you, Terry Pleger, for asking folks not to reveal upcoming content. I previously requested this not be done. Why have a daily strip if the potential for suspense, etc., is undone by spoilers?

Look at all the conversation. In depth discussion.
Now this is real story telling.
Can’t wait for Sunday.
If Locher is reading the new strips, I bet he realizes now that he should have packed it in many years ago.

Yes, Bill, it is.

Amazing….after that homeless multi-millionaire fiasco case, the FBI is now willing to take the heat so Tracy looks good. Talk about a turnaround…

Good suspense but I miss those rats…
ps: Wow, Dick has had a total makeover!—new hairdo, nose job, contacts, teeth capped, liposuction, arms lengthened, etc.

A great way to circumvent the avatar problem, Marg. And a beautiful egg, too. We’re seeing it much larger than we would the regular size avatars.

Sorry. With Locher gone, there’s just not much to poke fun at.

Bill Thompsom said the last time Fly Face saw Sam, he was just an officer.
The same thing happen in Batman.
When this one criminal got out of jail, he was doing crimes with a Batman suit on.
But the real Batman was identified very easily.
When the criminal went to jail, Batman just had the bat on his chest.
The criminal didn’t realize that Batman now had added the yellow background around the bat.
Busted!!!!

Wow! The bad guys making a deal with the Feds, so they can commit crimes AND be “good guys”!
The writing is logical, belevable, and unfortunately, true to life.
Great work, guys – I’m definitely a Dick Tracy fan (again).
