Hi friends! Remember Coffee from last week? He’s visiting Pine Ridge, Arkansas today. Check us out over at “Lum and Abner” to see how he gets along with those two old fellows (plus Grandpappy Spears!)www.gocomics.com/lum-and-abner
So, Sprocket doesn’t wear shoes ever, even in the snow. Interesting.
So far, the interrogation isn’t finding out much of anything. Tracy is going to have to try another line of questioning, or another method. Also, apparently Vitamin hasn’t turned out the money — yet.
Now we shall see just how glib and good at it this con-man is. I’m sure Tracy doesn’t believe his quick denial of association with Miles Mycroft, but proof of some sort is needed. As for the hippie, Sprocket, yes, she may be more dangerous even than Lena. And where just now is that hyena?
Actually, folks, there is a part of Miles Mycroft if Silver didn’t clean out the cage. Animals do not eat the teeth of their prey. And from the last photo we saw of Lena in her cage, she had a shiny white bone (arm or leg). A good DNA sweep ought to pick up on Miles. (hair)
Barefoot in the snow? Sprocket must have a great cardiovascular system. Sisphos, as one who has been there, I wouldn’t put her in the hippy category but she’s definitely a candidate for the eccentric category.
PQ, don’t worry! The wannabe poets aren’t even close! Pick up your gold medal now. Poetry from under the overpass just isn’t the same with all that traffic noise!
Suspecting there’s something illicit, our detectives pay Silver a visit.Tracy thinks that it’s oddSprocket’s feet are unshod. Not too wise when it’s snowing out… is it?
I haven’t followed comments on this current story arc closely, but has anyone else noticed how square and angular Sprocket is drawn? Very nice touch. Also love the posters in the background.in panel two.
Silver hoped the words were foundTo make these strangers turn aroundThey had to go no time to wasteThey must prepare to leave this place“The taller man that’s dressed in yellowmight turn into a problem fellow.”“I wish some shoes my sis would wear Her dirty feet pollute the air”.“Detective Tracy I know that nameThings might become a bit insane”.“I’ll babble on until I’m blue,But hope that Lena’s up for two!”

Re your comment below:.“Anslinger was a stone-cold racist who disliked cannabis because it was smoked by Mexicans and Negroes. But go on ahead and celebrate him.”.Anslinger also ran the only federal law enforcement agency that routinely hired blacks as special agents..Also Hispanics, Asian-Americans, Italian-Americans, etc. This in an agency that had about 200 agents covering the world. So the blacks, Hispanics, and Asians represented a significant percentage of the agency..Wilson Michael Shee, possibly the first Asain-American federal agent to be killed in the line of duty, was killed during Anslinger’s administration..He made a point of hiring non-whites for his agency. I guess they were growing an odd crop of stone-cold racists that year.

Living in a movie theater, the heating bill has to be tremendous.

Sorry, Mr. Doherty, but Harry Anslinger was scum.

Tantalizing the Annie fans again, are we?
nerdhoof almost 11 years ago
In Tracy’s world Oliver Warbucks is a real person, yet there is a movie about Annie.

Agreement with Mark about Anslinger. Fun fact, though: at one point, he played piano for a silent movie house.

Tracy – Let’s go into the Projection Booth and see what we find? Or should we get a search warrant? Sam – smoke them, if you got them!
