So, “Daddy” is reunited with Annie, Dick Tracy is reunited with his Wrist Wizard, and we get the answer to the question some of us were wondering about: there were five parachutes in total. As I originally claimed, Fritz Ann had to be there one way or another, because she is legally in charge of the operation. We only ever actually saw four of the five parachutes because showing us the one with Sandy would probably have spoiled the surprise when he met Annie.

So, what happens now? The chase is on?

It just isn’t Sam Catchem without a cigarette dangling from his mouth. Bring it back.

It’s great to see the Tribune Syndicate has allowed Team Tracy to do this crossover. It’s great to see Annie, Sandy and Daddy Warbucks reunited. I hope we see them in another adventure in the future.

Why do some of you fellow DT fans always start fighting? Why not select another strip for the fight comments and let the comments here be positive comments about what we are seeing in the daily DT strips. Even in a bar room, the fighting usually takes place outside of the bar!

Good to see Annie and Warbucks reunited. This is not the first time events have caused a lengthy separation. Tracy and his Wrist Wizard are also reunited. Now it is time to bring justice to Axel. Go team!

I’m guessing Punjab was holding Sandy so he didn’t have his own parachute.

Good morning DT fans. Now it’s time to get Axel and set the other people free.

Okay, the longed-for Great Reunion of Annie and Daddy Warbucks and Sandy has happened! And we have a squad of six experienced fighters assembled (plus Annie, who is a smart asset, and Sandy to help protect her). It’s time to kick some Axelbutt and crack this weird case wide open!

For some reason I didn’t expect Warbucks on this reconnaissance mission. Doesn’t he usually leave the dirty work to Asp & Punjab?

Now, concerning the first panel. This is the moment that the Annie fans have been waiting for for four years. The Annie strip ended with Daddy Warbucks looking forlornly out the window, almost resigned to never seeing his little girl again. This reunion between Warbucks and Annie is a scene that has played out many times in the Annie saga. I think the very first one was back in the late 20s when Warbucks located Annie on the Silo farm.

So, now what happens to Axel and Kenyon and the little town? There is still a lot of mysteries here. Good story and too much going on for it to end.

Now that everyone (well, almost everyone) is together, we can start unraveling this yarn.-—Any guesses on who Axel’s superior is?Venus? Ming the Merciless? Vladimir Putin?

Wow!! Big reunion. Hug it out. Maybe we could do a musical. Has Annie been done? Is this arc almost over?. Will the sun come up tomorrow?

Unbelievable….

Everyone says that the asp got his own parachute… well, i dont SEE teh asp on the ground.. yet. So, i guess sandy got his own parachute.. which begs teh question… who got him OUT of the chute since when he jumps from the “bushes” theres four parachutes in the background still coming down.

also, i guess theyve all been eating light since it took FOUR DAYS for those parachutes to touch down (not including the 9/11 panel) and before y’all jump on me saying “comic strip time is different than our time”* well no kidding.. still, the plane flew overhead and *OUT** of simmons corner airspace, the town gathered in the square to watch, and tracy told them all he woudl handle it, then he got in his car and drove AWAY from town square seemingly out into the “boondocks” (hey, maybe THEY can crossover too! lol) to where the parachutes landed.. which, since they had to go past the silo’s farm (since ma and pa kettle… i mean silo… were watching them leave from out of their window) would have been a pretty decent drive AWAY fromt eh town square (to be generous, lets say a ten minute drive to the silo’s farm) and then far enough past their farm to NOT BE SURROUNDED by any sort of home, light, or person.. not even another car.. which would lead to speculation that its a good (generous) ten more minutes past the silo farm (if youre keeping track, thats about a 20 minute drive so far)…

so theoretically, tracy and annie drove TWENTY MINUTES away from teh town square to the “drop off point” where they were met by sandy and the MCWU (major crimes warbucks unit) in a joyous happy reunion between deep poclets warbucks and annie.

Now, in ALL THAT TIME axel has had PLENTY of opportunity to get back on the horn, call his superiors and tell them A) there was a second flyover and B) tracy.. and for SOME ODD REASON annie went to investigate.. and i am pretty sure that if the townsfolk could SEE the plane, theyd see the parachutes as well, so axel could very well have more than enough time to inform his superiors that tracy has gotten back-up.. although he still believes that tracy is hypnotised, it doesnt matter.. its suspicious enough that once Tracy shows up on the island, theyre SUDDENLY havng flyovers by a United States B-17 plane… not ONCE.. but TWICE and the second time there’s parachuters that tracy and annie have went off to investigate.

sorry, but if thats ME.. id be outta there quicker than a hiccup.. things are going straight to hades in a handbasket, and axel would be better off cutting his losses and taking the high road.

heck, who knows.. maybe the nitrates will surface off the shore of thunder island and give axel a lift

I still think Tracy and Fritz-Ann are somehow related. Cousins, perhaps?

For the female readers, maybe Staton and Curtis could have Axel doing a routine at Chipendales.

By the way, thought youd all be interested. I work at Sony’s HQ in NJ, and they just put up a new Annie movie poster.

Unfortunately, there may be a few shouts of disapproval from the board. Daddy Warbucks is being played by Jamie Foxx and Annie is a young black girl. Bobby Cannavale is also in the m ovie and i THINK cameron diaz, so is Collin Byrne

I know that this is Dick Tracy and not Annie, but I’d have hoped that Annie and Daddy Warbuck’s reunion, would have been a bigger deal, at least a strip of its own with the third panel culminating in the happy reunion. It needed just a little build (2 panels, not 2 weeks!).

In the new Annie movie the “Daddy Warbucks” character has been renamed “Benjamin Stacks” (i.e. stacks of $100-dollar bills = a millionaire). He is played by Jamie Foxx.

But how Osama bin Laden got in that harness I will never know!
