You guys with the corporate memory – probably correctly deduced that the former chemistry between Bonnie and Joe would make them uncomfortable.
When I blissfully first read the above, I just took it as foreshadowing that, since the killer is out to get teachers and Bonnie is a teacher, that was the issue.
But then, it wasn’t that long ago when my bliss included not knowing that Bonnie is a teacher.
I guess in Joe’s home city the police department sends important information like the movements of suspected serial killers to other cities by the use of couriers, & not, like, through fax or email or teletype or telephone calls or video conference calls….
Staton’s sequential art is outstanding. It really carries the show when Mike’s scripts falter. But so far this storyline is progressing well. I think we’ve been set up to get more revelations gradually about Bonnie and Joe’s break-up and whether there is any chance of a reconciliation.
And, meanwhile, there is the implied threat to Bonnie as a possible intended victim, though, as far as I know, she has no particular sports fanaticism that would lead her to dare to criticize the deranged sportswriter-butcher….
