Meanwhile, back at the MCU… The poison is already at work at Le Fleur Boutique and Tracy is already headed off to investigate. This is a good sign!
Small French gender problem, though. “Fleur” is feminine, so the shop should be called “La Fleur” rather than “Le Fleur” (it means “the flower”).
Got a guest writer on board, this story line may have the potential to bring some oomph into crime fighting in Tracy land. I don’t want to get my hopes too high. So no pun intended, the jury’s out.
I like the Major Crimes Unit sign. Tracy looks like he means business. Will we see them conversing with hospital personnel in meaningful dialog ? Â I sure hope so. Meanwhile Yeti might want to self impose some exile as the fumery will be giving up a suppliers list and he will be on it as a place to go sniffing around in.
Will there be a flashover to the twitching Rabbit ?
And if Yeti were not a Dick Tracy villain he would claim someone tampered with the shipment of perfume to ruin his reputation (Tylenol™ copycat) and suggest Tracy investigate other manufacturers. It would never be solved. But, since Yeti is a Dick Tracy villain, he will climb on a girder or jump in front of a police car as Tracy closes in.
Point well taken. The only languages I “learned” were Russian and Spanish, back in high school. We’ll be charitable and overlook the subsequent Russo/Latino War that resulted…
Maybe Pat’s French is a little weak, or maybe that of shop’s owner (I assume it’s not Yeti). Be that as it may, three down and in comas should flash DANGER to Tracy: he ought not to want to be sniffing around a flower shop where people are dropping . There’s likely to be Something In the Air. A more prudent investigation might follow from his visit to the hospital, if the doctors there have determined a cause for the comas….
2-…CINCH UP THAT TIE! And comb that hair that’s hanging on your forehead, ya hippy! You’re a disgrace to the badge! DT: I can’t, Chief…
3-…I’m thinking hard about a case and I can’t risk slowing the blood flow to my brain with a snug tie. CHIEF: That makes sense. But what about the messy hair?
DT: That helps me tie into my rebellious, nonconformist side which helps me think outside of the tight confines of rigorous police-thought. CHIEF: Ahh, carry on then Tracy.
DT:SUCKAAA! I’m just hung over from the wild Halloween party at Sam’s. I loosened my tie to make it really long and went as the President!
CHIEF: Where’s Sam? DT: Ummm, Home. He does his best thinking on his bathroom floor. CHIEF: Good, good. What case?
DT: Ummm, the case of missing liquor from the evidence room.
CHIEF: Let me know when you crack it. DT: Crack? No way! We just took the liquor!
Guess chief is having a stroke in panel two. If you try to read what he says out loud using proper pauses for commas, it will definitely sound like it.

Was there a Chippendale chair on the scene? Has Tracy ever done a crossover with Fearless Fosdick?

Another good sign: the story’s moving quickly. This promises to rely on detective work.

Good start to the story. I like that it involves detective work right off the bat.

This story is giving me flashbacks to the Louie the Lilac episode of Batman — Louie played by Milton Berle, of course.
