Since many of us have been comparing recent stories here to the classic Scooby-Doo cartoons of the early ‘70s, it saddens me to share that Scooby’s co-creator, Ken Spears, passed away last week. I had missed the news that his colleague, Joe Ruby, also died this past summer. The characters they invented and their zany mystery stories were a huge part of my early childhood.
So, Daisy Dugan is known to the police, we learn. It’s maybe not the best character name since there is a woman by that name in the X-Men Forever comic books. No relation to the current story’s character, I’m sure.
Well, I was right that boutonniere left behind would lead Tracy to Daisy’s identity. I just thought he’d use a trait file, instead of his memory. (Which come to think of it, does have sort of a trait file.)
I, for one, just learned from today’s strip that Daisy’s last name is Dugan (assuming that the guy Tracy recalls to Sam is indeed our Dapper Dumb Daisy). Did not know of any other “Daisy Dugans,” male or female. Thought to myself, that sounds like a name from a 1940s gangster film—the Irish guy gone bad.
Easier to identify the trademark with the perp than to track him down, though….

Any thought of using the flower as evidence was spoiled when Tracy accidentally used his sandwich bag for an evidence bag.
DT: Our shooter has a fondness for extra mayo, Sam. I think I can get inside his head because I love extra mayo too.
