I hope Tracy and Sam’s brain has not atrophied from all the past lack of use. If he is banking on the perp falling, like manna from Heaven, into his hands he might be disappointed this time around. Dick may have to go back and read the old strips to see how he used to do it.

Well, at least we have a name for the victim, even if we have to refer to her in the past tense now. The killer must have stabbed her quickly for there to be no struggle. There are a total of three tea cups, two of them upside-down. I wonder if both of them were not drinking tea.

Well instead of a gun, the killer knifed her to death.

But what did he take that he had to kill her for?

Were they British? Tea time you know! Were there crumpets about?! Maybe call Steed and Mrs. Peel!

Ah finally look like a good who dun it mystery. Or is it.

The multiple cups would indicate that more than one were drinking (thus she knew the person) but looks like the perp left with their cup even though they were wearing gloves (no prints or DNA). I’m guessing the safe was locked.

Stabbed with a baseball bat! GADS! Is it a copycat killer, or did they arrest he wrong person last time around?Is that a stolen signed confession bulging Sam’s jacket pocket, or some bit of deli food for later? Perhaps the conveniently placed tea set will allow him to inconspicuously sit, sip and snarf without irritating Tracy!

Let’s sit back and watch!

2-SAM: Ummm, hearts don’t explode, Dick. That blood is from stab wounds.

3-DT: I didn’t know that! You sure? This case would be closed if we put it down to “heart attack”. SAM: I’m sure. Here – lemme pour you some tea. One lump or two? (heh heh)

I posted this today as a response to Another Take’s post yesterday about boboscar and I thought it might do some good to repost it today as a Code of Behavior for the GoComics family here..

I understand what you’re saying… I don’t know what his issue is with you, per se… I know bobo scar gave it to me at one time and it was more than likely, deserved on my part… I’m guilty of being an-ass, on occasion… I’m not completely innocent, but I TRY… I just want to see everyone here get along… we’re all fans of the strip, and we’re all part of the Dick family here with varying opinions and likes… I don’t want to see ANY attacking of ANY sort here… it makes things and feelings here tense and/or awkward for everyone… sometimes we get carried away with our responses… I try not to take anyone’s side against the other and would rather see antagonists work it out and get back on the same page… no one should be offended at any time… a person’s opinions are stated and if there is some dissension that appears that it might escalate into some form of tenseness, then both parties should just bite their lips, back off and take some time to cool off, instead of going off in a huff… no one should be driven away from here because of another poster… we all want the same thing… to read and enjoy a good Dick story and discuss it… I always hate it when I see a poster leave here for whatever reason, whether it be due to another poster or when one of us has passed… it makes the Dick family that much smaller… in the quantity of our family and the quality of our family, or lack thereof… I know some are just so cement-headed in their views that they won’t give an inch… that’s life, they’re entitled to it, just don’t go off on others for it… this speaks for ANYONE and not aimed at any one person… I know it sounds so trite, but seriously…

Yesterday’s strip makes it unequivocally clear that both Wilhelmina and the Unknown Assailant were drinking tea: we see WC doing so, and she asks if The Other would like more. So, it follows that today’s three teacups present, one upturned=used, probably Wilhelmina’s, two downturned=unused, leads to the conclusion that there is a “missing” teacup, probably the perp’s, taken away with him/her perhaps to avoid leaving any identifying evidence, along with Grandfather’s Wonderful Toy, This mysterious but apparently valuable object must have been the objective behind this heinous and violent murder of gentle old W. Caxton; could her name be canting, perhaps implying that the Wonderful Toy was somehow related to her famous ancestor (hypothetically, of course), William Caxton, 15th century introducer of the printing press and printed books to England?
