Golden Hawks, eagles and ospreys abound around me. You can tell by the squirrel chatter when they are hunting. I would not leave a small dog nor a cat outside by itself for fear of losing it to a predatory raptor. A member of the HOA reported her leashed Pomeranian being grabbed by a hawk. It detached only when she would not let go of the leash. So yes, this is a teachable DOCK, not a humorous one.

I just looked at an image of the Eagle flying away with a small deer in it’s claw , I don’t remember where it was though ?

We have one miniature poodle we’re glad grew big enough to give the local owls second thoughts. Now it’s just the coyotes we have to worry about.

Did you all see the video of an eagle picking up a KID when the Dad’s attention was elsewhere?

The big dogs need to stand over him. That’s what my dogs did when an owl or hawk was around the barn cat.

I have a Biewers Yorkie (my profile photo) and at 9 lbs. she’s on the large end of the scale for Yorkies. We lived a while in Long Beach WA with crowds of eagles everywhere. Little idiot has no sense of fear of anything. But I sure do. To eagles she was snacks with a cute red bow. Never let her off leash even once.
