You are the Crown of Creation You are the Crown of Creation and you’ve got no place to go.

Soon you’ll attain the stability you strive for in the only way that it’s granted in a place among the fossils of our time.

In loyalty to their kind they cannot tolerate our minds. In loyalty to our kind we cannot tolerate their obstruction.

Life is Change How it differs from the rocks I’ve seen their ways too often for my liking New worlds to gain My life is to survive and be alive for you.

RANDGRITHR Yes, do I remember Grace Slick advocating the violent overthrow of our nation? Ahh, yes the loving Left. “Hate the rich!” “Tax the rich!” “They are only a 2% minority, so they should be destroyed by the majority!” or in her words

    UP AGAINST THE WALL!

Peace Love, & Dope folk. Manson, SLA, and SDS sure showed us how to throw off the Right.

    IT’S A NEW DAWN!

    Hope & Change!

Lew… I remember those days too. Grace Slick SANG A SONG in which she fantasized overthrowing not the nation, but the powerful elite that ran it. While she was singing, the elite was using clubs, firehoses and guns on people who were gathering peacefully (according to their rights as guaranteed in the first amendment) to demand that the elite follow the laws and the Constitution.

Perchance are you familiar with the psychological phenomenon known as “elite panic”? It pretty much describes the current situation.

ahh, Lew, your arguments are maddening. Could you please explain how we will “destroy” anyone by asking for what amounts to pocket change? The rich remained rich when rates were 70-80-90%. The raise being discussed is a minor inconvenience, not an actual threat to their wealth.

The fact that this 2% minority has been thus far able to deny those who wish to let their sweet rate expire is a clear demonstration that they have way too much power already. Tens of thousands of gullible voters can be swayed by political adds paid for by a single uber-wealthy man. How does that square with “one man, one vote?”

The poor don’t have fleets of trucks wearing out the roads we all pay for. The poor don’t have millions of dollars worth of business and personal property that need police, fire and homeland security protection. The poor don’t need educated workers ready for hire. The poor don’t have investments that need the oversight of the SEC and others. A wealthy business man actually gets more services from the government than an unwed single mom on foodstamps. And that’s before we even start talking about corporate welfare, no-bid contracts and the like.

Today’s strip is totally unrealistic. Why is Jim mixing a martini with the single malt from earlier in the day? I hope he had the sense to at least make it a vodka martini, because if he’s mixing gin with whiskey he’s likely to get sick.
