I grew up in the town that hosted Woodstock II (Saugerties, NY) and the concert happened a mile or so from the house I grew up in. I had already moved out when they did it, however.
The people who lived in the real Woodstock (about 12 or so miles away from Saugerties), hated the fact that their town was associated with the concert. On the 10 anniversary of the concert, the Woodstock newspaper had a big headline, “PROMISE, NO MENTION OF THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF WOODSTOCK”. No story and that was the only mention of it in the paper.
This has to be about the ‘94 Woodstock, since the ’99 Woodstock ended with rioting, looting and burning. The jury’s still out as to whether Limp Bizkit incited the whole thing.
I just saw the movie “The Omega Man” in which Charlton Heston plays the only normal survivor of a plague. One of the most touching moments is how he watches the movie “Woodstock” in an empty theater. Its obvious he has seen it so often he knows the words by heart.
I live 2 miles (3.22 km) down the road from the original site, there’s no swamp, just a monument, a performing arts center and a museum. I liked it better when there was an empty field you could party in for free on the anniversary instead of the Ronald McMoney scene they have now, $7 hot dogs and $15 mixed drinks do not a fun time make!
PBS ran a great documentary about the event last year. Very interesting. Apparently it was a lot of fun right up until it poured rain and turned the field into a mud pit, then a lot of people packed up and went home and it was more or less over.

I guess Zonk and Mark knew each other in ’69 before Zonk met B.D. in the football huddle in ’71.

Woodstock II without Jimi – for obvious reasons – has not been the same thing .

Ah, Woodstock and its love child Woodstock II. Today, we have morons congregating and spreading COVID-19 instead.

Why do all these people want to go and see Woodstock? Does Snoopy know about it?

I always wanted a lava lamp. When they became retro a few years ago and were in the store, I laughed and was glad I didn’t get one!

Mom keeps telling me
About her days at Woodstock
Half a million space-balls
And all of them with their feet stuck
Freaking out on acid and what Bob Dylan says
I think she’s tryin’ to turn me into Joan Baez- Arlo Guthrie “Oh mom”

I was a junior in high school in Michigan. I bought the L.P. when it was released. My very first cassettes tape was Santana, my second was Sugarloaf.

Everyone Knows that anyone who claims to Remember Woodstock wasn’t actually There.
I wasn’t there and I can’t remember it either.
