I don’t mind the rules they put in place this year. The one from a couple of years ago when the game goes into extra innings starting a runner on second base i HATE. That’s not how the game should be played.
Just proof that the people in charge of the league don’t actually care about the sport. They just want to get you to pay for your seats and buy concessions. Once that’s done, they want you to leave as soon as possible.
I don’t watch any pro sports, just a bunch of over paid prim a donas, so fill me in. After you reach the maximum number of pick off attempts, does the runner get to maximize his lead off of the base? Since there is no threat of a pick-off, what keeps the runner from leading off the base 20-30 feet?
I’m a baseball fan and I really like the new rules. I go to multiple games a year and watch many more on TV. The new rules basically cut out the boring stuff that does not have anything to do with the game. I no longer need to watch a player adjust his gloves and cup between every swing. You don’t have a pitcher throwing to first 10 times in a row. It makes the game more exciting because it stops all the boring time wasting stuff that they did.
Now we need similar rules for football. Most important of all: when the live telecast reaches the regularly-scheduled time for the program following the game to start, the game is officially OVER.

New rules to speed up basketball. Each team gets 100 points, the cheerleaders perform for 15 minutes, then the players have three minutes to finish.

Do stadiums sell less beer and “food” now? Long innings with not much happening meant more time for another beer and hot dog.

Too bad they haven’t changed to the balls and strikes being called electronically, using the strike zone on the TV.
