I got magnetic stickers for the garage door and didn’t remember where I put them. Opened a box and there they were. So I cheated and labeled the box on both sides for next year.
In the process of looking for the birdbath heater, I discovered the drawer of dog stuff. So, dewclaw trimming is scheduled for the weekend. The birdbath heater was in the shed with the other seasonal outdoor stuff.
When I buy something in the off-season, I take a sticky note and write what I bought and where it is. Then, I park that sticky note on the calendar for the month I’ll want it.
“Car window ice covers are in the hall closet” was on a note on the November page when I got there. They were Christmas presents for family that I needed to remember to send.
It’s the only way I’ve found to remember stuff long term like that.

Why is Ralph still excited by Halloween candy when he should be stocking up on the Chris…uh, I mean, the Holidays in Winter candy.

That’s like pulling out the first winter coat for the season and finding a $20 bill in one of the pockets.

In order to find something you have to be looking for something and often what you discover is more important than what you were looking for.
