Awwwww…She may be a dippy ditz, and she may be a member of a completely different branch of the animal kingdom. but Kirbee instinctively knows exactly the right thing to do and when to do it.Wally, you deserve to be called a hero.
Lizard kisses with forked tongue. It’s early. I got nothing. TopWebComics voting links in my profile. Endtown and Doc Rat have gained some ground, but we should be able to get all of them in the top 40, including Kevin and Kell and Hubris. (Hubris is by the same Greg Cravens who draws The Buckets.) Thanks, JusSayin
I hope that was just a friendly kiss, or things are gonna get real weird and awkward. Judging by the way Kirbee is portrayed in the last panel it maybe much more than friendly..The look of shock on Wally’s face is priceless.. It will keep me going until Monday.
LOVE the look on Wally’s face! (In panel 4 – is his tail fluffed out from the dream – or surprise?) I really like Kirbee. :o) She is one of the sweetest people we have seen in a long time (Holly is sweet – but much less naive). Is it possible that Kirbee doesn’t realize that Holly and Wally are a bonded pair? She really hasn’t seen then together, just mostly Holly who was trying to find Wally. Just rambling thoughts from having to be a work at an udgodly hour (for me).
Kirbee seems incapable of guile. Wally did save her life, but he also told Kirbee he cared about her. Kirbee seemed quite surprised to hear it. I think Kirbee knew at some level that she annoyed folks (her request that Holly not be angry, her surprise at herself for finding the entrance). Wally’s sincere statement and actions thereafter probably made a big impression on Kirbee. At the very least, she has a crush on Wally. Or am I reading too much into “just a comic strip”?
I wonder about the wide eyed look on Wally’s face. Was that a “What the hell just happened?”; a “Oh God! that was something!” or a “Holy Shihtzu, I’m in deep trouble!”As far as Jim and Sarah’s intimacy issues were concerned, was that because mutating to a lizard form alters that part of the body to be incompatible with mammal equipment or could it just be that Jim was having problems?"
That kiss was proof of humanity.A basic human emotion.Now for the funny side….“Wally and Kirbee sitting in a tree (?)….. K I S S I N G….First comes Love…..Then comes Marriage…..Here comes Kirbee pushing a wheelbarrow.”
Just before it fell, the chandelier looked like a big fiery eye. So I guess the eye in Wally’s dream represented Jim. And the last thing he said was, “The time has arrived, my children, for you to receive my blessing!! Look upon me and know!! I AM ONE!! I AM I!! I.. I… I!!! SARAH!!!” So he is Eye. But did he think he was Sarah, too?The bloody red figures all seemed to be lizards, victims of Jim. The riders may not have been trying to fight them, but to save them from the thing that Jim had become. Not Topsiders, but “angels” working for the same agency as Marx. The woman may be a version of Flask, recruited to fight against the Eye, as Marx appears to be recruiting Wally. Li’l Marx gave the Eye to Wally to hold onto so Wally could see it survey its work before it moved on.
I’ve been thinking…this whole apocalypse thing has probably produced spot shortages of one sex or another. I suppose in some locations it’d be fine for someone to have two wives, or two husbands, or maybe one big group marriage…

Wally obviously believes that dream is significant in some way, possibly pointing to future events while using images from the past.
Kirbee may be The Ditz but at least she has a kind heart when compared to her late kin.

That was sweet. It would be hard not to think Wally a hero, he was a brave and good-hearted person.

Good thing Holly’s asleep..

Considering the culture Kirbee grew up in, I wouldn’t be surprised if polyamory was the norm, jumbling the genetic code around and all that.
Granted, Wally and Holly?

Careful, Wally. You cannot have two women at the same time. Not if you want to be sharp in the morning.

Thank you Kirbee for putting a nice bit of cute, crazy sanity back in the comic after the last few weeks.

Wally has Two Ladies! I went with the Joel Grey version instead of Alan Cumming, because Cabaret with Grey was more of an ensemble.
