They are two grown men who can fend for themselves; witness the fire, drying the clothes, etc.In the meantime, anyone else tired of the “The Iran Nuclear Deal” pop-up? I can’t turn it off! Republicans sure have deep pockets!!!
Poor Elly. That’s exactly the reaction I would have, then later regret not having more self control around my kids. So I could fill them in honestly, but not fully. So I could save them some hours (or days) of intense worry, no matter what the future would hold for them. In the end, I guess we are all only human.
A couple years ago a loved was diagnosed with a stroke and was unconscious for hours. His wife, a nurse, kept the three small children insulated until things had settled. It was really an atypical seizure and he recovered completely. Better not to take the kids on the roller coaster.
Elly, Michael, Elizabeth, Aunt Beverly and Uncle Daniel, are all dressed in black. They are all there to see John and Phil for their big day at the funeral parlor, their caskets side by side. Everybody is sad, except the grandparents, who are giving Elly the trademark “FBOFW squint”.Four grandparents{in unison}: “Gee Elly, when did you plan to tell me what happened to my son??”I have to admit, that is witty! Since Phil is the son of the kids’ maternal grandparents and John is the son of the kids’ paternal grandparents, they would all ask the same question in unison!

Do we call the rest of the family? Wouldn’t want to be responsible for giving any of the grand-parents a heart attack.

Thank you for re-posting Lynn’s Notes from her website here. It saves me time and they always add to the depth of enjoyment of the strip.

What bothers me is that these two clowns thought so little of their families that they set out with little or no planning.

Is there a boldface rule for Lynn’s notes?

dsom8: Not a rule, perhaps, but definitely a tradition (cue Fiddler).
