Aww! Michael is having a hard time writing to Martha that he loves her. Isn’t that sweet? For continuity sake, we will have to ignore that other storyline two years ago where Michael wrote a love letter to Martha and then got mad when Martha showed his love note to her friends.

Mike, you’re in lust at that age. She’s a pretty girl and you’re thinking about her physical appeal. Lots of teens confuse lust with love.

There’s goes the homework, right out the window.

Mike, you already did in the letter.

wow.. and kids today can’t even read this comic as Michael’s writing in cursive… :-/

He is actually at the age where he would have never learned cursive writing.

Never write it down. Just remember what every you say in that letter will be known, and probably memorized, by every girl she knows and a few out of state within 24 hours.

Who says it has to be lust? At that age people are just as capable of being in love as adults are. Hormones may have nothing to do with it. Being in love comes from the heart not from down below. Love can be felt from any age from 5 years to 100 years old.

Gotta agree with Michael’s description.

“Martha, I l..oaned my mother my pen and now she’s insisted on writing this letter for me.” That, or the dudes got some girly handwriting.

Lynn’s Comments:

I remember writing love letters to a boy in school. I wrote them and then I tore them up. The one time I did give him a letter, I saw him later in the day showing it to some friends out on the soccer field. They were all laughing. I can still see their faces, and I can still feel the pain. There is no explanation for this, but…I continued to like him anyway.

I guessed unwisely yesterday. That’s why it is called guessing!

If she feels the same she, I would hope, be discrete and keep the sentiments to herself.

If he turned that letter in to his English teacher for an assignment he probably would get an “A.”

Amazing how all the comments and opinions really add up to the Same thing…And you will never get over it…..

I just feel so bad that many kids today can’t read Michaels’ writing because cursive isn’t taught in school anymore, at least to my grandkids in Michigan.

Go and get some other paper, write it fifty times, then go back where you were and try again

Cursive writing—in another generation this strip will be unreadable to the average person.

Mike is just practicing to be like these 60 yr old men, who are engaged to 21 yr old girls.

Lots of comments about today’s kids not being able to read cursive - I’m old enough to be able to - but I can’t make out what he says in the first panel, “recorded on the WHAT in my mind” ??
