If you’re comparing yourself to your doctor, you’re forgetting you’re not a doctor but a dentist.

As predicted, John is seeing a chiropractor. He learned from the last time that calling the back doctor did him no good.

Little cause for complaint considering that doctor’s keep the rest of us waiting on a regular basis.

If chiropractors are so smart, then shouldn’t there be reclining couches in the waiting room instead of sit up chairs? And look how far away from the chair he has to reach for the magazine! Shouldn’t the magazines be on a rack 3 feet off the floor right beside the arm rest?

Dentists do 4 years in dental school after college and may do post grad studies to specialize….physicians do 4 years in medical school studying the whole body then do post grad training in medical specialties like pediatrics, surgery, internal medicine neurology etc.

I wonder if John is the doctor’s dentist. That could explain the long wait.

I always enjoy having to take a whole day off for a fifteen minute appointment that takes four+ hours… No respect for the patient. Listen up Docs: no patients, no income.

He should give his card to the receptionist as it appears she is in dire need of some work. Also like dental, chiropractors are not covered in the Canadian Nation Health Services

What’s the use of having an appointment if the Dr. is going to be late. Might as well just show up and stand in line. Well, “lie down” in a line, I suppose.

I lived in an apartment where I had to back my car out of an alley. Had to turn my head almost 180 degrees for about a minute every day. Needed a chiropractor after a year of doing that.

A dentist IS a doctor. A doctor of dentistry. They have to take premed courses just like any other doctor.

I always liked on the show Closer, when she makes the doctor wait for her. I would love to do that to my doctor.

I know of one medical Doctor that was so late with all his patients, you called the office ahead of your scheduled time when your appointment was due that day. You would then find out when you should really show up, since he was usually hours behind every day.

It wasn’t until about 1840 that the practice of dentistry – oral medicine – came onto its own.

Prior to that Barber-Surgeons performed extractions. Again, interestingly, surgeons along with apothecaries were always considered the ugly stepchildren by the society of physicians. Part of that historical snobbery is one of the reasons that many physicians still look down on dentists, surgeons, and pharmacists.

No Dr.’s do not want to be kept waiting, depends on what the patient comes in for, now the patient does not like long waits. I remember when I hurt my I did go in and found out I sprang it days ago I went to job seminar and Workforce bus was there, going down step took care of my lower back.

The Doctor is hoping the problem cures itself by the time you get into his office . Don’t worry, he will still bill you for his time…..

Yesterday I had a doctor’s appointment, and finally got in a half hour late. I guess 30 minutes isn’t too bad, although at the time it seemed Really Long.

My dentist/vet do not want people coming into the waiting room-call to check in and then stay in your car until they are ready to see you.

I love my new doctor. It is policy in the clinic network to schedule at least a half hour for each patient, and if there’s a procedure going to happen or a “new patient appointment”, then it’s an hour. If you as a patient don’t need that much time, it gives him a chance to catch up on his paperwork or computer notes. He doesn’t see as many patients as most places, but it gives him a chance to really practice medicine instead of assembly line poke & prod.

My back surgeon is brilliant. BUT never on time with appointments. Even when I get the day’s first appointment I’m often not in until an hour or more after time
