I like the way that Michael immediately jumps to the conclusion that Rhetta has met someone else after she says that 4 years is too long.

It never entered Mike’s mind that Rhetta had other plans. All he was thinking of was HIS schooling and she was just going to sit idly by while he did what he wanted. There’s a whole world out there for Rhetta and not just for Mike.

Memories. I met the man I eventually married when we were in college. We clicked but never dated because he had a girlfriend back home. After winter break, he asked me for a date. His girlfriend dumped him because she had found someone else. Worked great for me!
