You know, Jason, for someone who is so smart, you certainly do a lot of dumb things!

At least put a pool filled with water or jello under you to break your fall.

That’s why I’ll never try bungee jumping. I came into the world because of a broken rubber but I’m not going to go out because of one!

Notice how Jason is always the one testing these crazy ideas and not Marcus!

Reminds me of my ‘not well thought out’ stunts in my youth. I’m paying for them now, ha ha ouch ouch.

Notice the rubber bands didn’t all break at the same instant.

It seems that Jason’s intelligence does not include the study of strength of materials.

It will work if you weave them. Don’t ask how I know this.

I feel like Mythbusters should have done this one, can you use a pack of office rubber bands to make a bungee chord? I bet they would have gone into braiding techniques and all kinds of stuff.

I keep looking for Calvin in today’s strip….maybe he gave Jason and Marcus the idea.

I’ll admit, until the last panel, I thought Jason was trying to emulate Spiderman. The line looks more like spider webbing than a bungee chord.

Sometimes I think Jason is an idiot savant, but most of the time I think he’s just an idiot.

A lot of thing look good on paper, then….

He needs to learn better experiment methodology.

Some guy in our area decided to use a bunch of bungee cords to create his own bungee jump. Unfortunately, he didn’t account for how much they stretched. He became a Darwin Award runner-up that year.

Oh, I thought it was going to be an attempt to swing like Spiderman.

They are junior scientists. They should be able to figure out the weight limits of a rubber band.
