Rare case of a strip getting funnier as it ages

Old milk has never caused paint to peel. Clearly, someone farted.

1997 is “vintage”? I was 39 that year, and I refuse to admit that I’m “vintage”. And this strip was first published in 2002, only 5 years after 1997. How old does something have to be to be called “vintage”?

Hork! How nasty. It was bad enough when a gallon of milk got left in the trunk of our car for just a few days. Took weeks to get rid of the stench. And on hot days, you could still get a hint of it.

If the paint is Sherman Wiliams, there is a pretty good chance it was made with milk.

That’s nothing, I still have my old Roy Rogers lunchbox with the rounded lid and the Thermos from the 1050’s. Sadly, my mom cleaned the Thermos before putting it away for me. My wife found it once and said we should see if it was worth anything. I took my lunch to work in it instead. I still have the old 7-UP galvanized picnic cooler as well. I take it to the beach when I go surf fishing.

We used to do house checks for people who were away. One lady had gone off to a home, and her house had been vacant for three years while the estate was settled. One day we found the door unlocked. I looked in the fridge, which was still running, just for chuckles, and was surprised it was filled with milk, eggs, meals on wheels deliveries… I told my partner “I HAVE to know what 3 year old milk looks like!” Picture black cottage cheese, all dried up. And the eggs were light, like there was nothing in the shells.

Has the milk grown legs and can walk to your front door?

Jason better not eat the paint, it might have lead in it

P2 – I’m curious how different it sounded when he said “10 cents” from the subsequent “ten cents”.

I found a lunch box on ebay which was the same as my friend had back in 4th Grade (c. 1963), so I bought it for him for a 50th birthday present (no thermos included, unfortunately). A much appreciated nostalgic gift, since his original probably didn’t last for more than a year or two, as his mother tended to throw everything away (exactly the opposite of my mother!).
