To get in could actually be fairly “simple” – by “just” pushing on one of those “center” square blocks on one of the sides. Since the sign says “Inquire within”, that could be enough. But if you need to do more than that, once you get one out others will be easier as they loosen up. (The next one is usually another center block right next to it, that you have to first shift a little into the space created by the first block removed.)

The real puzzle is usually putting the whole thing back together once it is apart.

The puzzled looks on their faces, is a good sign that they will not be inquiring within.

The book Parkinson’s Law and Other Studies in Management contains one chapter on the perfect job description, written so well that there would be exactly one applicant for the job and he or she would be the perfect fit for it. An example was for prime minister of the United Kingdom, and one of the terms was that, after 6 months, the successful applicant would be killed and eaten by his cabinet — not necessarily in that order.

Regardless of what it looks like, I hope you’re not expected to disassemble it in order to “inquire within.” It would wreak havoc with building codes, not to mention the folks inside. Maybe you just have to find the secret panel to open the front door.
