Soccer would be better if all the players wore blindfolds. The scores would be about the same, but it’d be a lot more funny.

I read somewhere that the average NFL game has only 11 minutes of action.

The most commonly used word in American spoken English? “The” And in British spoken English? “Nil,” from tv reporting on the soccer scores.

I have been lucky to see Condors several times, what a magnificent sight!

As someone who doesn’t care for either “football” it’s hysterical to see that the only defense the tedious ones have is to attack the other type as being worse.

Why Go Comics needs a like button…..No, they need a series…“belly laugh, guffaw, haha, giggle, snerk, ho-hum”…

Oh, and if we want to talk about tedious sports, what’d ya call baseball, huh?

The amount of active “play time” in American football is driven directly by the media and it’s need to air commercials. It’s a very lucrative business. I think I read somewhere that each team in the NFL (from the networks) enters the season with enough money to pay for the entire season! Player salaries, travel, et-al! Considering some of the high priced players, that’s a lotta moohla!

Ever heard a soccer match commentary? IT’s so boring. No wonder the announcers scream GOL! as long as they can.

How about Aussie rules football? The constant movement and fluidity of soccer, but with impact and scoring!

American football without all the armor is called rugby. Now THAT’S a sport.

I find the whole spectator sport thing amusing – people living vicariously by watching other people play. I’d rather hit a single in church softball than watch a millionaire hit a home run for the Yankees.

Any sport can be tedious if you are not “into” it. And most sports can be very interesting if you understand the subtleties and dynamics of the game and the players.

Great idea. Condors eat dead things. I think it would cut down on the number of players faking terrible injuries.

The only way I can endure watching soccer for more than a few minutes is to imagine each player repeatedly saying “I meant to do that”. Or I imagine the ball is a molecule being propelled by Brownian motion. It’s the most random game on earth with the possible exception of pachinko.

Lowrider: thanks for the reminder that even though I disagree with, or am indifferent to a lot of commentary on this site, at least very little of it is made by people being moronic louts.
