A few weeks ago I found a pencil on the ground at the school I work at. It had never been sharpened (the business end was still squared off) but the eraser was worn off to nothing.

Also, if you buy a box of pencils, before you get to the bottom of the box the erasers will be all hard and no longer erase.

Well, of course you do. You’ve got easily 20 times as much pencil as eraser to begin with.

Read it again. It says you run out of eraser first, not pencil.
