Mom’s right, but there is one thing about a dog/cat/farm-animal: They remind  you to tend to em. Plants just suffer for awhile before dying. As I know full well… Fish too, I suspect, but I haven’t killed one because I’ve not owned one.

Well, you could always “veg” out!

Any fool can “raise” a child, but you need a license to drive a car?

We are not given a pet to prove we can care for a child, just nine months to prepare.

Don’t foist an unwanted ‘test pet’ on her, it’s not fair to the pet. Instead, put her through a voluntary “test commit”. An hour of extra chores every day for whatever period seems appropriate.

A fig? I guess I’ll leaf the rest of the double-entendres to others.

You could grow up to be a mule; or would you like to swing on a star, carry moonbeams home in a jar…….
