Years ago I learned an adage that has stood me in good stead to this day: “It may be that your sole purpose in life is to serve as a bad example to others.” Sometimes it’s helpful to learn from an expert exactly what to avoid.
Power nap: drink a cup of strong coffee and immediately lay down. It takes about twenty minutes for the caffeine to kick in. You’ll wake up feeling great.
I learned that if you are very tired, coffee keeps you from falling asleep but it doesn’t help you stay sharp. I learned this trying to drive home late at night after a busy day. I called it Fake Awake.
Like with cocaine so with caffeine too both are stimulators and with both of them the body develops a resistance to its effects. You take more the less effective it is till in extremis you take it to keep the effects of withdrawal at bay. Use them wisely and carefully.

Pickle bucket! Pickle bucket! That’s just fun to say. Almost as much fun as “Spackle packer!”

Actually, anybody that can nap after a gallon of coffee should know what they’re talking about.

His previous four mugs were sitting on the top of his car. Now he’s making up after the other four fell off on the way to work.

Guys with coffee nerves remind me of Don Knotts shaky character on the Steve Allen ‘man on the street’ TV shtick from decades ago.

I wonder more about Principal Spaetzle’s bladder capacity than his sleep habits. I hope he has a private restroom in his office suite.
